The HP predictions seem to be walking a fine line; if it's not over 400 I think the majority of potential owners and automotive world will be disappointed. If it's much over 400 it will be too pricey ..... time will tell.

If its built in Tennessee, instead of Japan as done for the previous G line, prices will be reasonable as labour costs are higher in Japan and there will be no transportation costs via ship. This will also eliminate any other importing costs involved.
Hopefully they will maintain same level of quality.
Canadian customers can export from US without paying the extra duty.

More info regarding the new Q60. Sounds pretty good so far.

Today, Infiniti knocks again with this: the Q60 Concept, a near-preview of a car it will build in 2016, part of a global reboot meant to elevate Nissan's long-suffering luxury experiment into a major player. While there's a new engine under the hood — a 3-liter V-6 with twin turbos and a 7-speed automatic

No mention yet of a manual transmission or a Dual Clutch Transmission. Hmm.
"As expected, the powertrain is a new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that was first previewed in the Q80 Inspiration concept. Output hasn’t been mentioned, but we know the powertrain delivers as much as 550 horsepower and up to 553 pound-feet of torque when paired with a hybrid system. Infiniti says the production Q60 will be available with a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, as well as rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations. The automaker’s troubled Infniti Direct Adaptive Steering by-wire system, which is said to offer better feedback than a conventional hydraulic setup, will also feature."

But the good news with the new TT engine is, by adding an intake, exhaust and a boost controller (BPU), this should bump the power up at least 50hp, so the car will be well into the 400hp range with minimal modding.
Im not so sure the rims will get smaller. The current Sport model has 19" rims. The concept has 20" wheels, so this would only be a step up of one size.

360-375hp is good enough. There's no real competition execpt for the anounced C450 MB in terms of hp. Its always best to under promise and over deliver than to do it the other way around.
I'm also ok with the AT over DCT, as long as its faster. That means the new 9sp can't come soon enough because the 7sp is woefully inadequate. I'm yet to be fully sold on DCT's a sporty car replacements instead of a full on race car transmission. I haven't driven it in a porchse yet but all of the others I've tried have their issues.

Now it feels like I'm driving a Honda Civic.
Even if the Q60 only comes in at 360-375 HP, as long as the torque is increased a good amount, most of us would be content...........for now.

LOL, Many years ago I used to think it was ridiculous for people who owned and drove 500+HP daily drivers. I thought that much power must make driving damn near out of control.
I went from a 200SX (Sentra) to a 195 HP Nissan Maxima and I remember being amazed by the amout of "power" it had after driving the 200SX.
Then I went to a newer Maxima with 222 HP and with the increase in vehicle weight, it was almost identical in terms of performance. (waste of time and money)
Years later, I am driving the G37 with 330 HP. Back then, imagining a car with this amount of power, I would have surely thought this would be more than enough.
Well, not anymore.
As they say, It's all relative.
I figure with a factory turboed car, as soon as I get acclimated and used to the amount of power and acceleration, I can mod it - get a boost controller - up the boost, better programming etc.

That could be my story over the last 20 years. Which is exactly why I appreciated that analogy.
1992 240SX 5MT... 1999 Maxima 5MT... 2003 Maxima 6MT... 2011 G37S 6MT
