Not talking head to head (or street racing .... forbidden here), just out driving for grins and I decide to step on it. I doubt very seriously anyone would know (without a watch, without another car next to you) if you did a 4.5 run or a 4.7 run. I think what everyone will notice is the increased torque, that 0-25 jump that hopefully the new Q60 will offer.

Depends what you're used to. Will a well established driver who hits the track, tunes his car and does spririted driving notice? Yea, will an average Joe notice, possibly yes and possibly no? Have you felt the difference between a ****ty tire and a good one? Heavy wheels and light wheels? ****ty brakes and good ones?

Why purchase a 400HP TT car? Typically those who do so are looking for speed, then those who are tuning want that extra time off their 0-60 or 1/4.

I would notice a sub 4 second car vs a 4.3 second car for sure.

I'm not saying anything bad, just what I've seen real world.

I'll buy that but my guess is more of us are "average Joe's" (but can't admit it). I still contest the majority (like 95%) can't tell a 2/10 of a second difference. Sorta of like claiming you can hear the difference between .04% THD and .06% THD on your stereo :-)

Lets all agree we hope the new Q60 has some spirited get up and go.

Yes most won't be able to tell or care, either way it will be faster than most things you will encounter in your daily driving and it will look amazing while doing it, lol! Can't wait until the Q60 starts coming off the line, going to be a blast to own!

I can agree I hope the Q60 will be great.

I don't agree that the people won't be able to tell the difference. Drive a Lexus ISF and then drive the new m4. Essentially four tents of second different in the 0-60. The M4 feels like a rocket compared to the old ISF.

Not sure if you're speaking on experience or not. I understand this is a Infiniti forum.

I'll agree to disagree on that.

I'm sure many ppl aren't going to buy it if it doesn't meet their 0-60 requirements, lol

AWD often AIDS 0-60 when the weight doesn't mitigate the advantage of additional traction. Where you often see a compromise in performance is at higher speed acceleration.

Soon we will know, I hope. This next gen Q60 is very much on my radar to replace our current G37 when the time comes.

Is the current Q60Xs faster 0-60 than the current Q60s?
I didn't even know how to respond to this at first. Hell yeah 0.2s is a massive gain. It sounds insignificant until you see two cars go head to head, especially on the track where that .2s difference significantly adds up over a lap. Anyone who doesn't care about 0.2s difference doesn't care about how fast a car is anyway. And this is not just about pleasing current G/Q owners. It's about being able to go up against the competition and bringing in new customers. A good AWD system doesn't just give you better launches, it also give you consistency which is HUGE. Nothing worse than flooring it from a stand still and spinning your wheels while while everyone else pulls away, even those not trying. As the old saying goes, "power is nothing without control".

I wouldn't care one way or the other. I am not drag racing the car and I agree with the statement that most (wether they admit it or not) can't really tell the difference in .2 or .4s. On a day to day basis that most of will be using the car that really doesnt matter. That is my same argument with wanting a manual over DCT. I don't care if the DCT can shift in whatever miliseconds faster than I can. I want to drive the car, I want to be in control and if the car has 400hp that will be enough EVEN if its 4.4 or 4.6 0-60 time. I think some people are splitting hairs with their arguments against getting the car...IMO

Once again .... I'm not talking track or street racing. As I said several times now .... Daily Driving! Yes, I agree on a track or head to head, fractions of a second are significant.

A lot of quibbling over a few tenths of a second when most of us go out and spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on performance parts in an attempt to make our car a couple tenths of a second quicker.

Oh the irony

Intake, exhaust, hi-flow cats= $2000 = .02 seconds in the 0-60 and .2 seconds in the 1/4 hahahaha

A lot of talk about 2-tenths etc in the 0-60. Really 1/4 mile and trap speed is a better indicator of which car has better drag-strip performance. It is actually possible for two cars to have the exact same 0-60 time and yet one can be behind or in front of the other, or for one car to have a faster 0-60 time and yet be behind the car with a slower 0-60 time (playing catch up). 0-60 is only gives you general idea of how quick a car is/isn't off the line. 2 tenths of a second is not that much of a difference when you are talking 0-60. In the quarter mile that is generally 2 car.

Please don't get me wrong, not trying to start an argument (or continue one). My whole point of this topic was as it relates to real world, Joe Blow daily driving with the Q60 which I have to think is the large segment of the buyers. For us, the occasion stepping on it to get that rush, a few tenths won't matter. I think the increased torque will have the greatest impact. I do realize 1/4 mile is a better measurement but again, in real life DD I think the 0-60 is more applicable.

Hypothetically if you happen to be out and about and are at a stop light and you get the urge to punch it and you are unaware the car next to you decides to do the same thing, in most cases you won't have a 1/4 mile to drive this way ..... hypothetically of course.

By now many members are probably, "will he shut-up already" so I will, last post on the discussion, thanks all for participating.
