Wait when was the tt 3liter q50 released ? And if it hasn't been , how do we know if this car is the 400hp q50?

It's not released to the public but certain people have driven it. It will be out in May. And it is a blast to drive.

Yea, looks like they are using the 4.5 seconds as the best possible time, whereas others sandbag their numbers. I know for sure e90 M3 DCT will hit 4.6-4.7 with a few people in it. For a 400hp car yeah that 0-60 was slow. Whether it was 2 people, 3' or 4.

Relax man, I'm just surprised. I've been around enough to make a decent observation and the AWD should also help the 0-60 vs the RWD.

He didn't brake torque the launch either. That's how you get big numbers out of a turbo awd automatic - it's how to launch on boost.

There's an old rule that for every 100lbs of weigh reduction you gain 0.1s in a 1/4 mile. Another way to look at this rule is for every 100lbs of weigh reduction your car behaves as if it has gained 10hp. These are obviously not facts, but more or less guides to how a car performs due to weigh reduction. There are many other factors in play, such as parasitic loss, transmission efficiency, suspension squat, traction, etc.

There's a lot to be gained with shedding all those pounds, ask any woman. It makes a huge difference how well a car not only accelerates but performs overall. The less weight the faster it is off the line, the better it can handle around corners, the more G's it can hold, less over/understreer, the less distance it needs to stop and of course the most boring one, better MPGs.

I like to think of it like this, for every 150~200 lbs a car sheds in weight it's equivalent to kicking a passenger out of the car. The more freeloaders you lose the better your driving experience.

For sure and it also depends on weight of car too as it pertains to rule of thumb. All the math and science majors can jump in regarding rotating mass/inertia, etc. : )

That's pretty awesome, especially considering the car was full of people and he wasn't even in sport+ mode! This thing is going to be a beast, can't wait to see the Q60 and hopefully the IPL version! Looks like Infiniti is finally starting to play serious!

The more I look at videos of the car and the more I think of what an IPL would look like the more I want it. Not having any figures or idea when the IPL will come out is going to make for a long start of the year.
