My guess on the pricing...

$37-38k... Q60 2.0 = There's no 420i so... pure guess here
$41k-42k... Q60 3.0 300 = 428i... Starts @ $42k
$47k-49k... Q60 3.0 400 = 435i... Starts @ $49k

I am guessing a fully loaded top spec Q60 will go for $61-62k.

Overall I think Infiniti is going to take the approach of either slightly undercutting the competition or offering more power for the same price. The 435i has "300hp" on paper, but everyone knows it's underrated, so I think the 3.0 400 is actually aimed to be a slightly faster competitor to the 435i. As far as the current Q60 S Limited starting at $49k, that's fully loaded and the max price. The new 3.0 400 could start from there with no options.

My point was more the low sales numbers of the Q60. The BMW 4-Series (Coupe, Grand Coupe, Convertible) sold 5,601 units in December of 2015. Even if the 2-door coupe was 30% of those sales for the last three months of 2015, it would nearly match the Q60's entire sales for all of 2015.

BMW 4-Series Sales Figures - GOOD CAR BAD CAR

I rarely see G37/Q60 vehicles where I live (100,000 people). Yet, 3 and 4-Series' are abundant. Aside from mine, I'm lucky to see 1 or 2 a month!

As is, I find it difficult to believe Infiniti will be able to sway the BMW, Mercedes and Lexus crowd over, even IF they keep prices where they've been, which is unlikely. I'd love to see the advertising budgets of the above companies. That would speak volumes.

I don't know what the fuss over the transmission is but its felt fine to me. It's noticeability quicker in the fact that it's more liner.

I see everything where I live/drive.
Dozens of BMWs on a daily basis. LOTS of Q50s, G37s, G35s, etc.
Porsches all over the place, and in the summer, Lambos, Ferraris, the odd McLaren, the odd Aston Martin. It's nice to be able to see these vehicles in person day to day.

I don't think a DTC would make it that much different. Suspension is noticeable in the different modes. It's does not feel like a turboed car that's how liner and smooth it is.

But the 4 series is a new model.

The Q60 is the same old design from 2007. 8 year old CAR!

How did the G37 do in it's first year or 2 release?

The Red S q50 is a blast to drive. The coupe should be a bit better.

i normally shy away from buying used cars from the dealer. i always felt a lolt of people trade their cars into the dealer bc the car has a major issue and dont wanna deal with a person they sold to privately lol. trade to dealer and forget about it. sell to someone and they might kill u

That reasoning sounds completely azz backward to me. A dealership has trained skilled technicians who diagnose cars for a living. They'd be far more likely to notice a problem than 99% of people walking around who buy used cars. Very few people would have a clue that anything is wrong with a car from a casual inspection and test drive. Lord knows that the multitudes of people who join this forum to ask "I just bought this G37 and X is wrong with it what do I do?" proves that. People have no clue how to detect what's wrong with a car. Dealerships do.

im no expert when it comes to trades in but ur telling me a dealer fully expects every trade in before taking it from the owner and or reselling the car?

we traded my moms mercedes with leaking oil (i forget from where we jus know it wasnt worth fixing when we took it to a benz shop) nissan just took it and traded it for some credit on a rogue for my mom. ive seen the benz around town a few times some guy was driving it afterwards around i dont see it anymore lol

I was mostly kidding about this, we bought our G coupe used from a Nissan dealer, supposedly came off a year lease. It was the first "used" car I have bought since I was young. I'm very **** and picky about taking care of my cars. All the new cars I have owned I kept for at least 10 years and were in outstanding condition. When I sell, trade in, etc ... I always get top dollar because of the care I take. Do I make up the depreciation I suffer by driving off the lot new? No, but I'm willing to accept that loss by having the piece of mind KNOWING my car has had the up most care from day one. On the flip side my "used" '08 coupe, now with 90k miles, has not had any issues. Including the gasket issue (had the oil pressure tested).

So for me, I prefer new if I can swing it, my '12 Xterra and '12 M37x I bought new, the '08 G37 coupe pre-owned.

you take a CPO car back to the dealer and raise hell if theres a problem, and they fix it.

try that with a private party sale, and you'll be told to pound sand.

i sold a guitar preamp on Craiglist, and a *week later* the guy decided he didnt want it and wanted a refund. i reminded him that im not Walmart.

Unless the car is very late model, low mileage that they get for a good price, dealerships send trade ins to auction. That's why you won't get much for them. What I'm saying is that they're better equipped to know if something is wrong than the average buyer. I bet you probably got low-balled like a **** on your mom's oil leaking Mercedes. They gave you a few bucks trade in (not its market value) to get you to buy a car from them. dealerships seldom lose money on trade ins. People who think they got a great price at a dealership don't know that they got screwed on the price of new car they just bought.
