2012 G37ipl 6mt

Hey just picked up a new ipl 11,000 km on it after running a few g35 coupes, all is well except exhaust seems much quieter than the 35. Wondering what the best way is to bring out the growl of the 35 without doing test pipes as they aren't legal in Ontario. Also wondering if exhaust would void the factory warranty at all. Love the car otherwise any information would be great, thanks

No

An aftermarket exhaust will not void the warranty.

I am not familiar enough with aftermarket exhausts for the G37 but if you plan to do any long distance driving the drone of a loud exhaust will make you nauseous or give you a headache especially your honey. Remember they can hear a baby crying through a rock concert.

I had an HKS on my G35 and most likely will get one for my G37

Xxgsp i found the same thing when i got mine. i had a 07 G35 with stillen CBE, Stillen CAI and intake manifold. I saw all the you tube videos of the ipl exhaust and my G35 was wayy better sounding. i thought if i put the same thing on the ipl it would sound the same and it failed. I added the Gen3 CAI and CBE from stillen but still nowhere close. before its over im probably going to do a Ark grip or Autohaus exhaust to get it more like i want. waiting till the meet at Z1 in October so maybe i can hear more exhausts live and not from video. Enjoy the IPL but looks like we cant mimic the great exhaust sound. I was told it was a design change in the vq37 engine that causes it.

I don't know guys .... as a DD I find the exhaust note on the G37 to be perfect.

Pnry let me know iI have seen many videos just don't want to waste time if I don't have too have some links of some combinations just don't know how lol they'll be on the ipl I'll post and see what you think. Maybe some on here with an ipl will have gone through the same experience and found a good combination.

Congrats man!! From one Canadian to another.
Berks HFC is the way to go, you still pass emissions and she'll get a bit more snarky eh.
But im bias and proven.

The sport muffler accessory that Infiniti sells adds a nice growl that is great for a daily driver. Very simple install, as it is an axle back, and has OEM fit and finish.

Yup ^ . Adds just the right pitch. I've got the axle back for sale if you send me a PM.

Ya thanks NBE appreciate love the car otherwise, berks where do you get them and did you do a self install. Any additional parts you added to the ipl exhaust or just the berks. Glad it still passed emissions

No prob, I had them shipped to me, I also have the ARK grip exhaust. I did it at my one buddies shop on his hoist, I don't recommend the Ark system just because its been nothing but grief. Plus because im not in the states they really don't give a dam about resolving the issue, shipping seems to be a costly thing but it was ok for me to pay it....wtf. Definitely go with the Berk HFC's, you wont regret it. I have a 09 37S , other then that with the exhaust its just old school trickery.

No, the IPL muffler is different and much more tame than the sport accessory muffler. The sport accessory muffler brings out a deeper tone with increased volume. No worries about warranty or emissions either.

Thanks Ryan, I was kind of wondering about that but wasn't really sure. Definitely good to know plus you would be guaranteed not to have fitment issues or goofed up flanges and welds.

Is it a vert?? Man I hope so. You could get up on the fast intentions group buy if so, we still need 3 or 4 vert guys on it. Should do the trick either way. I came from a 35 as well and I felt the same way about the exhaust. You could also do a long tube cold air intake that boosted my engine sound up to a nice level.
