I'll post a thread over in sedans and see if there's some interest. FWIW the vinyl should have no problem in that curved area, once it's heat sealed it's pretty resilient.
As you know, I still have the duckfeet, relegated now as my winter rats, shod with snow tires and stacked in my garage waiting for the end of year. In fact, just a few weeks ago, I washed, claybar'd and waxed them in prep for the upcoming winter.

My point being, I wouldn't mind a set of vinyl overlays to experiment with. Although I'm skeptical of their resilience through a northeast winter.

I enlarged those pictures you attached and this is actually a pretty decent solution for someone who has damaged wheels in the spoke areas. You might be onto something here if you can produce a template and make a vinyl kit for people to purchase. I was fortunate enough to have Ray Catena Infiniti dismount my tires and re-surface and re-spray every wheel hyper silver. I was planning on going with a matte silver powdercoat but the idiot that painted the wheels failed to order the color in time. My wheels are back to looking fresh and scratch free thank god!

When Ray Catena Infiniti finished they pulled my car up to me and I noticed that each wheel was still covered in the lube used to mount the tires. I had the service rep begin to whip away the residue and immediately realized we had a serious problem. Every single wheel was scuffed and scratched beyond my belief. I took my car there with not a single mark on any wheel before the install. One of the service guys put the blame on me and hit me with the ol, "well how do we know you didnt scratch the wheels before you got here?" To which I replied, "because I took a picture of each wheel with todays newspaper in the dealership parking lot just before dropping it off this morning...if you'd like to zoom on the pictures to view the perfection of each wheel, I'll email them to you and we can take a look on your computer." The guy was baffled beyond words. The service manager ended up resolving the problem by offering to have every wheel sanded and repainted. I guess I'm happy with that resolution because they should look brand new when done. An example of the damage is below. Will post pics of finished wheels next week...

Good for you going in prepared like that with pics as backup! Must've been satisfying watching the arrogant expression disappear from his face. Customer service ain't what it used to be...even at Infiniti. Glad the SM is standing by you though.

Since I last posted I've done a few things. Had my wheels completed repainted to the stock hyper silver color and that job was covered by Infiniti due to their horrific f*ck up. I recently replaced my brake pads at 32k and was surprised to see exactly how much meat was left on them. Changed em out anyway. Super easy job with the akebonos and I took my time to completely clean the calipers while I was in there. I set aside my gray floor mats and replaced them with OEM black ones which give the interior some really nice contrast. Finally I added a pretty nice low profile carbon rear window visor. Love the look because it's so subtle and the fitment is pretty damn good. Here's some crappy iphone shots for now...thanks for lookin

Can you post a picture of your interior with your new floor mats? I've been thinking of switching to black myself. Car looks good btw!
