Exclamation Video Inside: Is this the famous windshield cowl popping noise?

Hey guys I just recently got this tapping noise which is coming from the upper dash area. It usually happens when i roll of a bump on the freeway going about 60-70mph. The tapping noise will also be audible when I drive regularly on streets/roads, but would be off and on. I searched around the forums and alot of people are having issues with their windshield cowl producing a noise which is linear with the vehicles RPM.

For me, the windshield cowl popping noise only happened at slower speeds, while turning or going over small bumps.

That's definitely not it. I get it occasionally in both cars. Only in the winter. As it gets warmer it disappears.

What do you get occasionally? My noise or the windshield crow noise?

Windshield cowl noise. It's a single pop or snap sound, occasionally. Nothing like yours at all. I don't know what that is. I'll listen again when I'm at home and can hear it better. But your noise does not sound familiar to me.

I agree with BB. I had the noise and fixed it myself with the DIY, I believe you are experiencing something else.

The noise only happens when it's colder outside for me. I live in Houston and the last few days have been around 80 according to the car's reading.. I haven't heard it in a while.

And that sounds like the vents are loose in there. If you could try to see if they shake.

I checked it, and its not the issue. It seems like its coming from between the windshield and dashboard area.

FIXED:

While i was installed my air suspension i had to remove the windshield cowl and when i put back the cowl's the noise disappeared. I guess the cowl was missed positioned or one of the push clips was causing the noise.
