Removing Switch Mask?

Hey everyone, I am planning to do something with the blank switch spot between the heated seat controls on my 2011 Coupe, but I can't see to get the switch out. Has anyone taken it out? What's the best way of doing this without taking the whole center console into account?

This is a picture of the part that is normally there.

it's pretty easy to take out. Remove shift ****, take shifter trim out, open arm rest, slide cup holder/heat seat switches trim forward and then pop up. Disconnect both seat heater harnesses and finally take out the switch cover.

You'll see. I don't want to give it away yet but I promise it will be epic if it works. There will be a DIY also

Now I'm really intrigued! sounds like a spaceship launch. Amazing when it's transpires successfully, even more amazing when it fails.

I'm guessing it will control some kind of lighting system. Either that...or it's his very own "little red button."

Wire a Staples easy button to it . All jokes aside, do want to see what you got planned.

So I figured I would let everyone know because I think it's cool but don't want to disappoint.

The button that I'm mounting there is the mute button for my 9500IX. I know that doesn't sound cool so I wanted to take it to another level. I tried to look for a OEM blank momentary switch but couldn't find anything so I ended up buying this switch.

So now to the cool part about it. The way I am going to wire it will allow for the light to be solid when the radar is on and blinking when receiving an alert..

I thought it was going to be a button, to let out the sharks with laser beams strapped to their heads. Sounds like a good plan though, OP. I like radar detectors but HATE all the damn chirps and beeps they make.

Marine | carlingtech.com

Check out the contura, L and W's, they all fit into the standard size cutouts. Numerous choices for color, dust, dpdt, momentary, etc.

I added a few backlit rockers to my Titan and they simply snap in. My car has the "open/close" switch from the factory

Hm I wonder if they have a lighted momentary switch that doesn't have the horn icon. Thanks for the suggestion.

I found out that they do which is awesome, but the momentary switches do not have lights. I am debating it.

I found out these fit totally by accident when I was adding power windows and locks to my Titan. Wound up adding some extra bed lights since I had the whole dash ripped apart.

Keep looking, I'm pretty sure they make one. If not check out blue sea systems. Tons of different options for lighting and colors, can have a light that switches on with the dash/instruments or one that turns on/off when it's switched.
