GTR Shift **** on a G

Thought you guys might like to see another small mod made to my G37S Coupe... I just added a Nissan GTR shift ****. This may not be to everybody's taste, but I love it!

I decided to shorten the shifter shaft by about 0.4", which means cutting a couple of pieces metal; and drilling out a bit of plastic (but not that hard)... I just think it looks better a little shorter.

And, although the GTR doesn't have a shift boot, I decided to keep mine... and with a little glue it seems to sit nicely. A follow-on mod that I intend to do is to fill in the engraved shift positions on the GTR **** and refinish the top.

No doubt there will be some questions about my Heated Seat switches too. I have an older 2008 G, but retrofitted the Center Console and trim from a 2012 IPL. I fought with trying to rewire the later style rotary switches but eventually went back to the original style, and had to fabricate my own bezel to make them fit. I think the result looks pretty good...

$100 on the 'GTR Life' Member Classifieds forum... you also see them 'new' on eBay from time to time for about $180.

Haha... its love, not remorse!
Sort of like buying a bit of 'bling' for my wife. Its to make her look even better... not cuz I want to trade her in.

I just acquired a GTR shift **** as well and was wondering how do you remove the silver trim that is connected to the leather boot on the original one?

Do you have to cut anything or is it a direct replacement? I want to replace mine, but I don't think I want one that screams GTR.
