Jump Starting G37S coupe
Ugh.
I have a 2008 G37S coupe and unfortunately as of this morning my battery is dead. The battery is just over 2 years old. This is the second battery already in less than 6 years of owning the car...
But the real issue at hand is that I can NEVER and i mean NEVER jump start this damn car with another car. Every time I have had hot-shot it, I have had to have Infiniti Roadside assistance send out a tow truck and they use the jumper box. Last time they were out the guy told me that this car required the same amount of power to jump start as an 18wheeler...sounds like BS to me but I have no other explanation.
Can any other 2008 G37 coupe owners jump start their cars with another vehicle?
Unfortunately I'm now out of the 4 years of free roadside assistance coverage so I'm not looking forward to paying to get a jump later so I can go back to National Tire and Battery and give them hell. what a crappy day.....
edit: if it means anything i'm in MD and it was 0 degrees this morning...but still. i don't understand why i have never been able to jump start this car with another vehicle.

i've never come across a car that can't be jump started via another car....i just don't get it. and yes i am doing it correctly. i've tried larger cars/suvs, various jumper cables, etc.

I would call your dealership and ask if the TSB was done. This is a known issue. I've tried using jumper cables and it did not work as well. I called roadside and they jumped the car using a portable jumpstarter. The tow truck driver was correct about the car needing a good amount of power to jump.

Are you certain you're doing it correctly? What gauge cables are you using? Are you able to get a good connection? Are your battery cables tight and completely free of corrosion?
You mentioned that it's 0 where you are. I read today that battery loses half its cranking power at 0 degrees.
Also, the TSB that rnfmla mentioned is possibly your culprit. I had it performed while still under warranty and have never had it fail to start since. It was 30 here tis morning and it turned over a little slowly at first then started right up. And before having the TSB I never had any issue jumping the car.

Also be sure you give it a really good run after jumping it. Dont do small trips or else it will never have a chance to truly charge back up.
I would suggest buying a battery charger, and doing a slow, deep charge with it for like 12hrs. That should help if the battery itself is still in good shape

Does anyone know if they will perform this TSB outside the warranty period? And if not what this would cost to have done?

I'm thinking of ordering it myself and let my local shop handle it who I just more than the dealer and they are much cheaper.
