Aftermarket trunk lid options?

Well, I received some bad news about my new G37 that I'm picking up in the morning. Long story short - someone spilled something on the trunk and it has probably ruined the paint on the trunk lid.

Of course they will be reducing the price of the car (if they can't completely clean it up/buff it out). But whatever, stuff happens.

So anyway, I just spent the last hour doing a search for aftermarket trunk options. I found a few companies that make em. I saw the duckbill trunk lid that is no longer made. And I found a bunch of old for sale posts.

So, as of today, What are my options for an aftermarket trunk lid?

I don't really know if I want carbon fiber. But the car is black so I think it wouldn't look too ricey.

Maybe I will just get the factory trunk lid repainted. But I still don't like the chrome 'spoiler' piece.

Thanks for your help!

It'll be tough to find a duckbill trunk...not sure if anyone still makes them. I'd just repaint the OEM trunk lid...you can have the body shop paint the chrome spoiler to match. Myself and several others have done this and it looks MUCH better

Autokits X makes a full duckbill trunk with the spoiler already molded in, they also sell a duckbill add-on spoiler available in carbon fiber or fiberglass.

Check the vendor section here for interior/exterior items. You'll find Autokits X, R1, and Outkast Garage all make options for trunks for our cars.

I got mine through R1 autoworks. I'm pretty sure they're on here but I got ahold of them through the g35 forums. Here's what mine looks like. Name: null_zpsd744ff97.jpg

That trunk looks good, but OP should keep in mind that R1 has no provision for reverse cameras.

I might end up doing this. Otherwise it's gonna drive me crazy. And you made a great point - I can have them paint the chrome at the same time.

I just don't think I can bring myself to put a carbon fiber trunk lid on at this time.

I'm enjoying the stockness too much right now.

Looks pretty good.

But eliminating the rear camera is a deal breaker for me.
