Not at all. I set my sights on the G37 back in 2009 as "next car". Test drove lots of cars in its class, as well as American muscle that I was waiting on (like the Camaro SS and Mustang GT 5.0). When the time came to buy, everything came back down to the G37... after which it was a choice between Coupe or Sedan. I choose the far more rare 6MT Sport Sedan. However, if something ever happened to it beyond my control, I'd probably replace it with a 6MT Coupe... just because it's easier to find. And the reality is that I almost never need 4-door convenience.

Anyway, best car I've ever owned. I'm still exceedingly pleased with how the plan's come together.

Yep. I've been thinking the exact same thing. A 2-3 year old Cayman S, 6-8 years from now.

-I would say yes! I would go with the 370Z because I have the G37 coupe and I never use the back seats so sometimes I think about what it would be like to have that extra oomph with the 370Z

My other question is, what are you looking at possibly purchasing when you get rid of the G37?
-Well I don't think I will get rid of my G but maybe my next car would be an M3 and if I go big I'd get the GT-R!
I've heard from a few G owners who kind of wish they had went with the 370Z. And even encountered a bunch of former G owners over at the 370Z forums.

I wish I could drive both for a couple weeks each and see which one I like more.

And of course, I still have dreams of owning a GT-R. Like everyone else on this board lol.

Car after the G would most likely have to be the BMW M3.

The 370Z is undeniably fun, but you don't so much ride in that car as you do wear it, if that makes any sense. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's small. Really small.

The down-shift rev-matching 6MT is kind of fun. Wish my Infiniti had it.

Not me, and I'm on this forum. My left foot would get bored.

No regrets on G, will consider the new G Coupe when it comes time to replace our current 08. Wife still wants a coupe (with a back seat) and doesn't want to give up the performance or reliability we currently have. Given that and having a budget of not much more than the current G Coupe .... selection is pretty limited.

Good. Glad you are completely happy with your G. I see loads of automatic sedans for sale, but rarely ever a 6MT.

Hard not to like the Cayman. Gorgeous vehicle.

Went to an S4 only to move back to Infiniti a few short months later. Ended up getting married and Wifey vetoed the $680/month payment.

Now we're good so I'm looking at ordering either an Audi S3 or CLA45 AMG...

my next car would be the Infiniti Q series.... whether it be the Q50s sedan or Q60s Coupe (after the redesign of course)... I love the Nissan/Infiniti brand too much to switch manufacturers.... and where i live don't have that much dealers

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Nissan/Infiniti. I have owned 3 Nissans and 1 Infiniti over the years and my brother has owned 4 Nissans.

Love Toyota/Lexus, but I just wish their car's were more exciting/enjoyable to drive. Excluding the ancient Supra, IS-F and the LF-A of course.

Exactly. Total sleeper. All the worthy performance upgrades shared with the 6MT Coupe, but lighter, and room for the kids.

OMG, yes. From every angle, a total work of art. And by all accounts, one of the best driver's cars available. Haven't driven one yet, because those plans are still far off and tentative.

Ditto for me. My G37 was preceeded by a new 1992 240SX Coupe 5MT, a new 1999 Maxima SE 5MT, and a new 2003 Maxima SE 6MT.

My primary car has been a Nissan now for over 20 years.

Nice. I had a 5 speed 200SX (very slow haha). Then moved to a 95 Maxima GLE. Then owned a 2000 GXE Maxima - felt like a waste of money once the 2002 came out with H.I.D.s - 3.5 liter - 6MT. The 2000 and 2001 Maximas were pretty unnecessary.
Also owned an I30 for a bit. Black on black.

My little bro owned an Altima, 240SX, 300zx and a 350Z.

I came from two Mazdas (2006 Speed 6/2011 Speed 3), prior to purchasing my G. However, I would totally go back to Mazda again if they red do the Speed 3 and/or Speed 6. But I think my ultimate choice would be a 2013 Genesis coupe 3.8 Track.

Wouldn't the Genesis coupe be a bit of a downgrade lol?

I was thinking the same thing. But the heart wants what the heart wants.

The mid-model refresh of the Genny Coupe is a fine looking car, there's no denying that. And the performance specs are respectable. But up close the sloppy craftsmanship really shows in the details. And seeing as how it's competing in the same class of car (RWD Sport Coupe)... yeah, huge downgrade from the G37 Coupe.

I think I would buy my g coupe again if I had to do it all over. And the next car for me would definitely be a gtr in 5-6 yrs, hopefully a lightly used black edition. Gonna stick it out with my coupe until then, not chasing any of these germans down as the gtr is all I need.
