G37S loose bumper issue?
Howdy all!
I am new to myG37--as you probably have noticed--and will (hopefully) be another proud owner of a g37S soon! After my old beater finally ascended to Civic Heaven, I have been in search of a newer, much more fun to drive car. Anyways, my parents notified me of a car they thought I might be interested in by where they live, so I came up to give it an eye. From the CarFax and AutoCheck, it seemed to be immaculate: 1 owner, no accidents, and plenty of checkups, fluid changes, etc. However, upon taking a quick look around it, there seemed to be some issues, which pull me to reconsider how good of a deal this was.
To begin, her first blackmark easily given- the front bumper's lines were loose, and some of the areas around the grille, as well as the fender wells, were actually sticking out some. A closer look also showed the front bumper to be a slightly different shade of grey than the body. I know painting plastic candled to discoloration, even if it is from the same batch of factory paint, but the front bumper almost looked as if it had been replaced (maybe due to rear-ending someone or some other frontal damage?).
The sales rep made a note that his '09 Altima had the same issue... But this is an Infiniti! While still Nissan's luxury brand, I highly doubt they would sacrifice tight lines and good holds for sake of profit. Unfortunately, I was pressed for time and was not able to craw beneath her for a more thorough look; something I shall definitely do when I am back in town. The 19" factory chrome rims were beat to hell, too. I guess the last owner really liked to see how close she could get to curbs...
Other than that, there was not much else I tell that wasn't right. Body was straight as a rod, just the front end looked like it could use some Botox.
I'll hold you no longer, and sorry if this topic was already discussed! I surfed the web for an hour or two to see if anyone else suffered the same and found nothing of interest, so hopefully this is not common! Thanks for your time

At the least, it sounds like the bumper was removed and replaced for some reason, and it was not carefully aligned with the rest of the body. Also, the factory rims are not chrome, unless you mean that the previous owner chromed the factory rims. The different color on the bumper (and other plastic pieces) is something I noticed on my car after it was pointed out to me (I got the car new, so parts were definitely not replaced). It is easier to notice in some lighting conditions than others, but if it is as bad as you say, then I would stay away from the car.
Thanks for the response! I'll snag some photos when I get around to seeing her again.
