Nice work on the 3m carbon wrap! I personally think it looks cheap though. As does everything that tries to imitate real carbon. But there are no creases or signs of a bad wrap job so thumbs up for that.

I did the work myself and have never done it before so i was happy with how it came out for a newbie. For the handles i ran the brushed at an angle. I may fix it and have it all facing one way. But idk i think the lines would be too long since everything else flows vertically.
Good job on the wrap. I think vinyl is a pain to work with especially in curvy areas. But I myself prefer contrast on the interior so I like the silver/brushed alumimum look.

Yes, i was skeptical about using vinyl wrap as well but the 3M 1080 series looks to be great quality (so far). In order to do it right, it takes some patience to get all almost 0 bubbles and no creases. It took me about 5 hours to take apart the dash, wrap all the pieces, and install back on the car. I never thought it would take that long LOL. I do like how the finished product looks. It feels like I'm in a "new-to-me" car.

I am doing the same thing currently to my G! I did all the trim except for the center dash this weekend because I couldnt get the piece around the shifter out. I took off the shift **** and pulled up under the leather like instructed but for some reason it seems to be caught on something in the front. Any pointers? Thanks!

The piece (about 2" in height) above the "ashtray" is being held by clips. If you can pop that out first then trim around the shifter will just pop up by pulling up under the leather.
