2011 g37 ipl
Hey,
My local dealer has a left over 2011 IPL in Graphite with 7-sp auto (wish it was manual) with 303 miles. It has never been titled so it is new. The current price is $38,450 +ttl. They are giving me $18,500 on my 2009 G27S 6-so with 65k miles. It seems like a great deal to me but just wanted to check in here to see what you guys think.
Best Regards,
Michael

OP where are you located? I am selling my 2013 IPL and have it listed on this forum if youre interested. a 2011 with 300 miles on it probably meant it was used as a test driving car. i always worry about old cars with low miles, cars are meant to be driven and maintained.

Yes, the IPL hasn't yet been registered and will have full warrantee starting on date of sale. Two considerations for me. First, I love driving stick, have since my S2000, but I don't have the best technique so an automatic is probably better for me as long as there is minimal lag. The other thing is that my 2009 has 65k miles and is out of warrantee whereas the IPL is new with full warrantee. He payment will be $100 more per month but that isn't bad.
Does the IPL have lower resale and faster depreciation than the other couple models? I had thought getting it at this price would help me to stay ahead of the depreciation curve since most of the upfront hot has already been absorbed into the reduced price. Am I mistaken?
Thanks,
Michael

Honestly, you want a manual and this isn't it. I say don't go for it. 100 bucks a month into a savings account is still 1200 a year to keep the car running, far more than it should take. You could likely double the miles on your current car before it starts feeling old or becoming less reliable. Keep the 6mt (which it sounds like you love) and use it as an excuse to practice your technique. You could also look into the RJM clutch pedal.... it helps shifting a lot imo.

Just a quick update. I picked up the 2011 IPL earlier this evenng and have been really impressed with the number of small, but noticeable, cosmetic and functional improvements as compared to my 2009 G37S. The new nav screen is much nicer as is the radio interface and the illuminated kick plates are a nice touch. Other than putting $4k down my payment stayed the same so it feels like a good choice so far. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and feedback!

Can you expand a bit about the differences btwn the nav screens? I keep looking at swapping out my 09 screen for a 10 or newer screen b/c I like the format and higher resolution better. I've seen screens for btwn 100-200 on ebay. Do you think it's worth the hassle? Thanks!

The main differences for me are the higher resolution, updated display graphics and the fact it is a touchscreen. My 2009 didn't have the navigation so I didn't have the touchscreen interface. Really pleased with the car so far and the auto transmission has suited me well the last couple of days.
