Sport package.. anyone regret not getting it?

I went to the dealership today to start the haggling process. I had no idea there was that much of a difference between the looks. I knew the sport would look a bit more aggressive, but the difference was huge. The regular package looked like a slicker Altima or something. My dad came along to look too and he wouldn't know the difference between a 350z or a porsche but he noticed how much better the sport looked too. I already have a good 'deal' going on with the regular package.. but after seeing the sport package I just can't get it out of my head. Anyone thoughts?

I have a sport and If i was to hop in a base model, I'd be able to tell you what I am missing out on. Go for sport if you can.

Yeah if I didn't get the sport, I would end up spending thousands swapping out wheeels/front end etc etc. I have seen a few pics of g coupes with the orange strip on the headlights replaced with clear. Would I have to buy a whole new headlight unit or is that a decently easy fix?

Lest this thread becomes another “sport versus non-sport” contest, please understand it is a personal choice. I chose a Journey for a few reasons, including the seats were more comfortable, my driving habits are not so aggressive, all four tires are the same size and can be rotated, the softer ride suits me, and the car was a bit cheaper. The choice is yours.

Sport or nothing. The brakes, 19" rims, and bumper already make it a good deal

... Yes, but do you have any idea how much that costs? Big brake kits run $4,000 easy. Suspension, could probably just swap in the sport springs, but that's labor if you don't DIY, might as well do coilovers. So basically $5-6k and you don't even have the rims, body kit, or seats.

I realize you can buy used for cheaper, but the cost-prohibitive status still applies. The non-sport is pretty ugly compared to sport IMO.

Getting the S is much cheaper than trying to piece it together after the fact. Brakes alone are another $1500, the spare tire to clear the BBK is $250. Limited Slip Differential, would probably be well over $500 w/ the labor. Seats, wheels, paddles, sways & springs, pedal covers, bumper, skirts, and the red S etc. would probably cost 2-3x as much as the pkg. price. You should also get better resale w/ an S over a non-S w/ similar equipment.

Go with what you prefer. Do you like the stiffer ride? Do you like how the sport seats feel? Some people have problems with the bolster on the sport seats. Is the bigger brakes/wheels a big deal to you? Are you going to be modding in the future?

Some people who chose the journey specifically because they plan on modding the vehicle to what they prefer so they don't need any of the sport package.

Ok I'm for sure going after the sport package. But still no answer on the headlights. Just need to get em all clear. Get rid of the amber strip. How much will that run
