Drove '13 g37xS Coupe. Questions, please read..

Drove a beautiful g37xS coupe yesterday. Big brakes, 19" wheels, loaded.

Noticed that it drives really nice and tight, some of that being brand new but some from the different suspension and steering than my g37xs sedan.

If I put a cusco strut brace and hotchkis sways f/r on this coupe am I going to see that much difference since it already has a true sport suspension?

nice driving car...

102 views in the coupe section and no one knows. I guess I asked in the wrong place?

You will get a better turn-in with the FSTB.
My car also came with "Sport Suspension", but when I installed Hotchkiss Sway Bars (F&R) it made a huge difference. Much less body roll on cornering.
Of all the mod's I have made, the Sway Bars was the biggest bang for the buck.

Im not sure on the X... My G had sport suspension but after adding the Cusco and Hotchkis it was way WAY stiffer and corners yet handles on rails ...though I think being on SS coilovers help too...

Sorry I haven't been checking the forum this week, or else I would've hit up this thread earlier XD

As far as the Hotchkis sway bars go. GET THEM! Get them NOW!
I was iffy about sway bars but found a decent deal on the Hotchkis. They changed my driving life (I'm only a daily street driver, too!) And that's on top of my Sport model. Given that it's not a brand new car, it's still a wonderful mod. I'd be happy even if it were my only mod.

I have to agree 100 percent as far as sway bars go, it's for sure the best bang for your buck. I have them and really love the upgrade.

Would the sway bars hurt the ride comfort on a g37s?

On the sedan I had it seemed like the ride quality suffered a bit but I liked the tightness they gave so it wasn't a big issue.

It is important to note that stiffer sway bars won't necessarily increase performance. While they will reduce body roll, body roll is actually not a great indicator of how a car is cornering. There is a danger of overloading the already heavily loaded outside wheel if you run sway bars that are too stiff (you'll see this when a car picks up its inside wheel on the track).

Stiffer anti roll bars will however improve initial turn in and body response (you might not be able to carry more speed through a corner, but the car will feel more agile). Also, most aftermarket anti roll bars are stiffer in back than stock, which will make the car less prone to understeer (or more prone to oversteer).

They should not hurt ride comfort significantly (nothing like stiffer springs).

I have a 13XS with Hotchkis sway bars, made a huge difference especially on the on and off ramps, point and go!
