Buying Used 2008 G37, 42k Miles
So for a long time, I've been on this forum without a G but I finally found one and pulled the trigger. I found an 2008 g37 with 42k miles with a corrected title. (A corrected title does not affect the value of a car, it's a title basically saying someone messed up on the name of owner, the color of the car, etc... on the title, so the owner decided to fix it which comes with a corrected title). Anyways, I test drove it, it's smooth, it's a sport package, navi, memory seats, etc. Everything is clean but when the car is at a stop and you get out of the car you can here a buzz noise repeating and repeating almost like "zzzzzzzz". My friend was with me on the test drive and said it was a "cover on the exhaust" that was rattling. Should it be a big concern? and what do you guys think of the car? Here are some pictures, I already put a deposit down and the dealership said they will look into the noise before they give it to me.
*Those are not scratches on the car, it's the light.*

Saw it on eBay and thought it looked nice. It's basically the car I'm looking for as well except it's in TX and prefer a private party. The title would make me a little nervous. You can say it doesn't effect value, but if it makes any prospective buyer second guess, it does effect value.
What price are they agreeing to for you?

Car looks pretty clean! If the title is clean go for it. I see its a 5AT. I have same year just PG. It also has couple additions like the laminates kicks and paddle shifter. Has low miles if the price is right, why not? Just make sure they take care of the noise before taking delivery. GL

I felt the same way when I saw that title...but I researched it numerous times. For example, let's say the car is under a lady name "Ashley Roove", Ashley gets divorced and her last name changes so she has to apply for a corrected title. Simple as that. I do not prefer a private party...My friend bought a Lexus IS250 2008 for 27k..they gave him a fake car fax, the car had a stolen title and many more things I can't list...This g37 was listed for 24.9k.

the G looks clean! as long as it checks out OK and you are happy with the numbers then go for it.

Price seems kinda steep. I paid 21 for my 09 G37X a few months ago, 60k miles. I wasn't even considering the 08 because I'd heard the 7AT was a vast improvement over the 5 spd.

For whatever reason, the AWD G37s seem to command a lower price from what I've seen. I personally wouldn't want one for wheel fitment purposes, but not sure why otherwise.
I would also bet yours isn't a Sport?
Hopefully he can get a few grand off the asking price and make it a good deal for him.

ONE MORE IMPORTANT QUESTION!! When I let my friend test drive the vehicle, he revved the g37 while it was on park and it wouldn't pass 4000rpm, isn't it supposed to go well over 4k? Is that a concern? I'll try revving it myself, maybe he didnt push hard enough?
