Torque specs
Hi guys,
I'm doing my brakes today, and can't seem to find in the shop manual where the torque specs are. Maybe I'm blind, but I thought I looked through the entire BR section, and all I can find is "tighten to the specified torque setting". Which is where?
In another one of the many PDFs?
Thanks,
B

I finished the job this afternoon, not too bad with the right tools. The rear caliper lower mounting bolt was a bit of a pain, being behind the arm where i couldnt get with the gun.
I have 2 questions about the job, as it's been a couple of years since I last did brakes.
After the initial bed in of the pads, I decided to go through an alley with the windows down to listen for and problems. I noticed the pads sound as if they are dragging on the rotors slightly. I say slightly because I only notice it in the alley, and it is not that loud. Is this normal for a while until everything sets in? How do i know if the bedding in process was successful?
I know this next question has been asked before, but depending on where you go, I've seen different answers. Front and rear pins have a plastic or rubber bushing near the end of only one pin per caliper. I didn't notice it until I was cleaning and re-greasing them. What is this for, and does it go to the leading or trailing side of the caliper. What will I notice if they're in the wrong spot?
Cheers,
b
And thanks again Black Betty for the Power Stop recommendation. Here it is complete:

Not quite the right torque...
84.3 (8.6, 62)
43.15 (4.4, 32)
That is:
84.3 N-m (8.6 kg-m, 62 ft-lb)
43.15 N-m (4.4 kg-m, 32 ft-lb)
Units matter!

Amen. I go over the ft-lb values with a highlighter to avoid this sort of mistake.

I snapped the bolt that goes inside the caliper cylinder last year while replacing pads, I was lucky to spin the broken part inside the little cylinder and get it out.
Guy at autozone matched the replacement from another car which fit perfectly.
What a Sunday that was..
