My IPL came with the front plate holder :(
I just traded my 2009 G37S 6MT for a 2013 G37 IPL. I love the new car, but I really am disappointed by one thing. It came with the front plate holder screwed to the bumper. I tried taking it off, but the 2 holes look disgusting, so I put it back again.
When I first got the car it's the first thing I noticed, and I complained right away. I even told them before that the car I'm trading in didn't have any front plates because i hated em. Now they were telling me that it came with the car (I bought an MT so they had to order it from another dealership out of state).
What should I do? I hate these front plate holders

California requires front plates, but the dealer has a form that tells you, and that you can opt out from the dealer installing the bracket.
If there are no plates present, how is the dealer required to install the bracket?

This is exactly my frustration. I don't even have any plates yet.

Its about a 3-4 hour job for a body shop to do it probably $100 if that and polished out... I opted out in financing when they pulled the car into Detail... no holes... but still while signing the papers they brought me the plate holder and screws...
Each dealership is different... its not that big of a deal... go get it gel filled polished and done...
See if the Dealership will cover it? If not spend the $100 and Done... you got a IPL you got change...lol

Happened to me too on my IPL. Finally took the front plate off after a year and a half. Left a nasty outline and two holes. Just dropped it off this morning to get the holes filled and the entire bumper repainted. Sucks...

OP if I were you I'd stick it out with the bumper plugs until a few years down the road when rock chips, etc. would warrant a front bumper repaint. Such a shame it was pre-drilled, I would still see if the dealer could help out
hm I suppose this wouldn't stand if pulled over for not having a plate? I typically drive pretty easily and don't have any mods planned that would attract negative attention
I'm in NJ (soon to be noVA) and luckily my car had no holes drilled, wonder if I'll be OK (usually this kind of citation is a "fix it ticket"?)

I wish it was that simple. I had a clear bra installed too
