Used car decision: 2011 G37 coupe vs. 2010 Mercedes E350 coupe

If you are above 50 I would say go with the Merc. its basically the Ford Taurus of Germany though. Lived there for four years and the E series is a Taxi cab over there. Albeit a nice taxi, its a taxi. The coupe looks sporty but when a mechanic sees you roll up he has no reason to believe you need a break on the repair costs.
I own an 08' G37 coupe and if I had to switch to an E class it would have to be an 08 and up E63 AMG. I got hammered on a long straight by one in my 350Z vert but ate his lunch in the corners.
The E350 looks great but its not as much a sports car as it is for cruising on a pretty couch.

Pic of the E350 is a few posts up.
As for the G, there was another 2012 model, colors I wouldn't have wanted myself, for which they were asking $40k. Fewer than 10,000 miles. For some reason, couldn't bring myself to consider that over the E350 which was a 2010, over 20,000 miles, but CPO, and which I purchased at a lower sticker price (as well as with a better interest rate than I suspect I would have gotten with the G37).
I'm a young guy in a solid profession, so I'm probably on the young end of the car's demographic if in it at all.

Thanks, all. Compounding the issue is the fact that the city to which I'm moving soon has an MB dealer, so warranty work would be easy, but no Infiniti dealer. I would be able to get routine service at a local Nissan shop, but any warranty work would have to be taken to a place roughly an hour down the road.
What I'll be doing will have me working very long hours.
Then again, the Infiniti has under 10k miles; the MB is a bit over 20k.
Would that change things for anyone?

If you are concerned about a "status car" then go with Mercedes. Take into consideration like others have said maintenance is pricey. If you are more concerned about reliability, low total cost of ownership and and a car that performs and handles well go with the G.

Great answer! I will research cars but never in a forum where the opinion is going to be biased. Thats just silly.

Went from a Crossfire SRT6 (mercedes engine) loved the car but feared the maintenance cost after warranty was close to ending. Traded to Lancer to save on gas but missed the sports coupe. Came back to the darkside G37. Get the Infinti and dont look back.
