Sport or not, that is the question...

First time post here. Been doing a LOT of research and appreciate all the info I've found on this forum.

My dilemma is this: I will be getting a G37 Coupe either in the next few days or the next few months. I know, big time frame. It all depends on how aggressively the dealer wants to get me out of my BMW 128i lease early, it ends in July but they talk like they want to deal. My question is to go with the Sport model or not. My dealer has a few of each and I know I will get a better deal on the non-Sport but I'm curious from people who have both whether you have regrets either way. I've done the research so I know the difference between the two, I've just never talked to anyone who has had both or driven both. In fact, I have only driven a non-Sport and LOVED it. I think the only thing I'll really miss may be the sport seats but even the non-Sport seats seemed pretty great to me. I'm a little worried about the stiffer suspension of the Sport. I don't take my cars to the track, I don't drive on any fun twisty roads, primarily back and forth to work and the occasional Vegas trip.

Anyway, sorry to ramble but if anyone has any input or advice, I'd appreciate hearing it. Looking forward to joining the ranks of Infiniti owners!

IMHO, if you are going to use it as a daily, don't drive spirited, and aren't going to mod a lease....don't get an S. it will be a waste if you do.

Stick with what you love and have driven already.

DEFINITELY go for the sport. i went for the journey and i regret not going for the sport all the time. The sport calipers alone are a good enough reason to get a sport AND the sport has nicer wheels and bumper.

Sport has a stiffer ride, if you have crappy roads where you live you might need to see a chiropractor and invest in some wipes to clean up your spill coffee. But you get some nice brakes!!!

It was a requirement for me, the wheels, facia, LSD, brakes, seats etc are worth it. If it's not so important to you or you plan on replacing the wheels anyway I could see why you might not opt for it. The seats might be a little too bolstered for a daily driver as Rad said.

Well, it will be a lease and I don't mod ANYTHING on my vehicles. I do like the front fascia and the wheels a bit better but definitely not a deal breaker. My biggest concern, which I guess I'll see during a test drive, is the stiffer ride. I've had cars with paddle shifters and I never used them so I don't need those. As of now, I'm leaning towards the non-Sport but I REALLY appreciate all the input, keep it coming!

2% of the time, play time on ACH, I am sorry I did not get the sport, the other 98% I don't miss it at all.

Yeah the paddles are just kind of a cool novelty, really pretty to look at but I don't use them too much. I like knowing I have them if I want to shift immediately.

That's kind of how I think I'll feel. Unless I'm blown away by the brakes and suspension, I think I'll stick with the non-Sport, spend the extra money on the black grille. Thanks again, everyone, for the input. I'll gladly take any further advice on this. Or anything else you can suggest for a first time Infiniti owner.

I love the look and feel of my sport :>

I find myself using the paddle shifters more than I thought I would as well.

I have a journey. I don't regret it because, I went for some after market parts that performs better than the type S. It would have been a waste of money for me. I ended up getting some Apexi S1 Coilovers, Vossen 20" wheels and AP Racing BBK.

What is it that you wish you had from the Sport?
