Car got Repo

I put money into a high yield savings account so I put 6000 in there for the year of payments on the car, its an account i dont use or look at EVER...

Well my wallet got lost so i canceled all my cards and accounts.... i never realized my car account was not active because they were taking it from the savings i canceled that...regardless the car payment was two months late, they sent me NOTHING in the mail, they didnt call me, they just picked it up out of my driveway and gone

Talked to infiniti today i am getting it back reinstated BUT the repo man stole 2600 out of my center console, i was going to the casino the next morning so i took out cash and left it in the car...well i am going to pick up car on tuesday and the holding lot said there was no money in car!

Anything i can do?

First mistake was leaving the cash in the car like that. Try talking to the repo place that towed your car. Good luck with everything

You are basically screwed, A) you can't prove it was in there, B)when u signed your financing documents there fine print stating if they repossessed your vehicle you are responsible for anything in that process that may happen and any cost associated with it, meaning if they took your car during a repo and ripped your front bumper off it is your fault, not theirs, etc. . .

Small claims court is your only chance, but I think they will second guess anybody leaving that kind of cash in their car overnight. A paper trail will help. $2600 withdrawal slip, plus reservations for a casino hotel room would be a plus, but you'll truly have to hope he/she confesses to it.

This sucks man, but the others are right. The repo people are crooked and for sure they stole your money, but you can't prove it. Sorry this happened to you man. Hope you get your car back, and like was said, never store cash or guns in a vehicle. Don't waste your time even in court because you cannot prove they took the money, there is no proof you put it there (you have a photo of it in the car?)
Again man, we all make mistakes, you can just learn from this bad experience. Things will get better man for sure !

Just pretend you went to the casino, bet on a center console, and lost.

Post of the thread nomination!

OP, sorry your car got repo'd and you got ripped off. It sounds like a very expensive lesson in how to be more responsible with money. Ouch. But if you're the kind of guy who can afford to leave $2600 cash laying in your car, you probably won't miss it very much. First world problems.
