So this past weekend my g37x coupe was broken into. I came outside to notice my lock was jammed and the key hole delete cover was pryed off. They slighly messed up the paint and dented the door. So now its in the body shop. I was almost certain that the key hole delete escuchteon would deter thieves away. I guess not. Good news is the only thing that was stolen was my ipod touch and air freshner. Had a pair of expensive shades in the sunglass compartment but they left it alone. Also my glove box was locked so they didnt find the other ipod that was inside. My question to you guys is any preventive measures i can take so this will not happen again such as disconnect the rod inside the door panel that way they will not be able to break into it through the key hole? its weird when they broke into it i guess they disarmed it and my windows rolled down so they didnt have to bother breaking the glass. It sucks because my car will not lock. Everytime i hit the lock button both windows roll down automatically. So i had to put it in the shop immediately. Any ideas out there??

 

That sucks! Unfortunately, the body shop will be more than the iPod and air freshner. Why the air freshner?

 

Do not leave any valuables visible in the car.

 

Don't leave valuables, you need to reset your windows, I believe that's why it keeps rolling down automatically

 

this happened to someone else recently. supposedly infiniti can reprogram the car so that the windows will not roll down when the key hole is turned... I think I'm going to have this done now that it is well known to theives.

 

your right i think they broke in because they saw the ipod charger cord hanging from my center console so they assumed something valuable was in there. good thing the ipod touch was used and i paid like $80 bucks for it. They should have taken the ipod interface cable too while they were at it.

 

great question it was just a $5 ozium small little spray bottle. Maybe that has more value than people think ... after all any nasty smells once you spray that thing once it goes right away.

 

I didn't know that happens when the key is turned. I am going to see about having mine reprogramed as well.
