Blend Mount install on 2013 G37 Sport

Used the Blendmount with the .050 mirror tap with 9" and fuse to install my Valentine 1. It is easier to use with a set of needlenose pliers. After you remove the mirror plug, you can see three wires. The black is ground, the brown is 12 volts after the engine is started. I wedged the red mirror tap into the brown. Took a few tries but I got it in. I bent the mirror tap pin on the black(ground) lead and after I had straightened it and pushed it in again, it broke. I had to remove some of the plastic shielding on the mirror plug and tap into the black wire by cutting off the end of the mirror tap black and wrapping it around the ground wire. It looks like it will hold. If it doesn't I'll get out the mini soldering iron. I wrapped it with black tape and used a couple of ties to neaten it up. Hint on putting the mount on: They tell you to remove the right hand section of the mount, before putting it on. I found it easier to just remove the bottom screw and left the top one on loose, then fitted it around the mirror mount. I did not need the extra padding that came with the mount. Plenty of adjustments on the mount. I snugged it up next to the bottom of my mirror. Good product.

Installed 0.050 12" MirrorTap on my 2013 G37xS today for 9500ix. Red to brown, black to black. I tried to loosen the existing wires in the plug with a tiny screwdriver. Black went right in, all the way in. The red one took more effort and is about half way in, but seems to stay in this way. Hopefully it will hold.

12" length seems to be about right for the G for Escort 9500ix, if you install right above the mirror, on the driver side.
