Drive by wire sux... any help on how to fix it

I'm told it's called drive by wire. Is there a way to make this system work better? a reset or aftermarket mod that will make it work better? I think mine is bad or it's such a ****ty concept it just works like crap.
HELP

thanks nukee26 I guess that statement is kinda vague. To me it mostly seems inconsistent. One time full acceleration kicks in great and it pulls hard, the next time not so much. Also when under full acceleration and up shifting the revs just kind of hang there for a sec and messes up the shift timing. I will lurch a bit and then hitting the gas to finish the shift there is a noticeable pause before the fuel hits the motor. At the other end of shifting, starting out I must tap the pedal to "it seems" wake up the pedal. This is most noticeable when backing up. I have stalled out more times than I care to admit. i'm no rookie to a manual trans either.
Any info would be great!
thanx Dirty

I remember reading, sometime within the last few months, about a member who installed some sort of module that changed the tps output. To correct for the issues mentioned above. I can't remember what it was called or what the thread topic was (reason #1001 why thread topic names should be meaningful!!). If I have time later on, i'll look through my subscribed threads to see if i can find it ---- unless someone else beats me to it

Edit: Also, some of the characteristics described above sound like a product of the 7AT programming.

Sprint something wasn't it? Tune will eliminate the lag if that's what you're worried about.

I'm not sure that your issues are caused by DBW. I have never experienced anything at all like what you're describing so maybe something isn't working correctly on your car. It's not how the car is supposed to be.

Thanks All for the reply's
I think I'll just have to wait a bit till it warms up enough for me to turn a wrench or two. I have tried to manipulate the gas pedal, while the engine was not running to see if there is any noticeable issues.
The only thing I found was every now and then, I would hear a "clack" coming from the engine bay. I would hear it when I floored the pedal quickly. I figure I'll remove the plastic engine shroud to see if I can actually SEE the throttle body. Might just be a small thing like an obstruction in the path of the throttle body.I hate turning wrenches in the cold. I can live with it till the warm weather gets here. Thanks again for the replys
cheers
