What is the rectangular cutout on this front grill?

Hi everyone. New here. I'm in the market for a g37 sport, 2dr, manual transmission. I've done a little research, but am still new to this car. I've come across this listing, and am considering this car, but I noticed there is a rectangular cutout in the lower middle mesh grill on this car. I've looked at several other sport models, but haven't noticed this before. Is this indicative of an aftermarket intake, or is this normal? Maybe I'm just paranoid. In general, does this appear to be a good buy and should there be certain things I look for before making a decision? Thanks! Your help is invaluable!

Good to know that it's stock. Thanks for the reply! Can someone explain what the lane assist is and how this works?

It's not lane assist. It's the opening for the sensor for the Intelligent Cruise Control, a part of the Technology package. It allows you to set the cruise to a certain speed and following distance and maintain that distance from the car ahead automatically even if it slows. If you get from behind the slower car, the car will speed back up to your set speed.
