370z base to G37x coupe

Has any one here gone from a Z to a G. I love my Z but I need AWD and automatic for my wife. I love my Z the BMW coupe is more refined. However, I have an affinity for Japanese cars since my 280z. I test drove a G coupe but would like a an opinion from a long term owner.

Go with the G, you'll love it if you love the Z

I went from a 350Z Touring to a G37X Sedan...I like both for different reasons. The G sedan is more practical and better for a daily driver, but the Z was more fun.

That all depends on your personal finances and how you plan to use the vehicle/ long term vs short term.

If you want to buy and keep long term you would regret it. But if you plan to trade every 3 years then leasing is probably the way to go.

To add on:

If you have so-so credit you won't be able to really utilizing each option to the fullest extent either. So make sure that is in order and have some $$$ up front too.

My credit is excellent. My Z is a 2010 base 6 speed 9000 miles. I think a G 37 x will go in the low 40's. I own Z. I'm hoping for big discounts when the Q 50 comes out.

I actually went the other way. I had 05 350 then 07 g35 coupe then 08 g37 coupe now I have 10 370 roadster. I like the 370 best of all. It is nearly as refined as g but sportier. G looks amazing though!! To me the interior room of the g coupe really isn't much better then the 370, at least for 2 passengers and a modest amount of luggage. G just had slightly number and slower responses. For some reason stock exhaust sounded better on the g though!! Good luck anyway. I've seen some nice lease deals out there on the g right now.

One thing worth mentioning, I seem to get a little better mpg with the 370 vs the g37, maybe about 10% better in day to day driving. I do wish Nissan would give these cars a taller 6th gear as it pulls plenty strong but should be turning lower revs at highway speed. At 80 I'm turning a bit over 3000. Drop that to 2500 and I bet we would see 30+ on the highway!
