Wet sanding that is overkill dude... Mineral spirits or a little lacquer, it will come right off. Wouldn't hurt to put a fresh coat of sealant after as well, the paint will need it after the thinner.

To the main G owner...sorry on the damage...but just 5¢ into it not sure if others have done this but I had that white pavement paint on my G after they sprayed it...ugh...I took some Brake Cleaner on a soft rag and came right off.. took a little elbow grease but after it came off took some polishing compound and wax and back to new again...

Try that Meguiar's PlastX on the headlights. You use it with a polisher or buffing ball that they sell as a kit. Worked great on the yellow haze that my old solara had on the headlights.

Yeah, already bought it yesterday the heavy duty one. I should give it a try before replacing the housings.

wet sanding

You might try Micro Mesh. Grits from 1500 to 12,000. I have used it on plastic that had scratches from 36 grit and worked my way up thru 12,000. When I was done you wouldn't know it was ever scratched. Micro Mesh was developed for taking scratches out of the windows in planes.
Good luck.
