G37 + optima battery

G37 + optima battery
hello everyone,
My battery has failed on me 2 times within the past month and I'm starting to believe it's slowly dying. It's been about 4 years since changed so I'm considering in swapping it out for a new one.
My question is, what are you opinions on the optima brand car battery. My friend says its a reliable brand and highly recommends it.
Is there a particular model/version I should look for? Any feedback / comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

thanks sharkey,
I'm located close to Vancouver, and it doesn't get too cold here in the winter (-5 degrees, on average for winters) and the city doesn't get too much snow.
You said it is dependent on temperatures / weather. In that case, what would be a good spec for me ? I'm pretty new to this stuff so any insight would be splendid.

I tried a red top but it wouldn't fit.
Ended up just getting a costco battery that would.
The problem is that there is a particular valve replacement and ECU upgrade to help with battery drain. Otherwise you will still fly through them.
My dad got a battery tender from amazon and that really helps.

Optima batteries are fantastic, but I honestly think it'd be overkill to stick in a G37. I just replaced mine with a DieHard gold battery and it's done just fine in the ~25F nights we've gotten in Illinois so far.

This is incorrect, I currently have an optima redtop in my 08. Works like a champ and my car sits for weeks at a time and never had the hint of a weak start with this battery. My OEM battery started failing on my after 3-4 days of sitting. I left my car on overnight with the optima while working on it and forgot about it, and it still started in the morning.

I agree, red top battery works very well. I just replaced my optima battery on my yukon and its been in it since 2006. Also just replaced it on my IPL as well for reliability. Im a mechanic so I always recommend optima...

I have a Red Top in my '08 coupe and it's been great (and it fit fine). I'm put Optima's in all my cars when the time comes.

mcgrible, we certainly want your business, but not before you need to give it to us. When you have had issues with your current battery, what were the circumstances and have you done to recover it? Also, what is the voltage of it right now? Most fully-charged batteries will measure at least 12.6 volts.
