2008 G37 and iPhone 5?
#61
Am having the same issue as most. I did purchase the 30 pin lightning adapter. I'm also using Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter which worked great with iPhone4.
My new iPhone5 charging is working well, however my car system is not able to sync up with the phone and keep saying "not ipod is connected" but my phone says "device connected". I remember with iPhone 4 at times the system will not sync up with the phone. I used to unplug it then plug again and the system recognizes it. With iPhone5, I have not been able to sync it, therefore I cannot play any music of my phone or play pandora and so on...
Is there a way to fix this?????? am frustrated...

I have two lightning adapters. One does what you describe ("iPod not connected" but phone says, "Accessory connected"), and the other works perfectly every time. So, there is clearly a problem that only affects some lightning adapters.
Try exchanging your lightning adapter.

Hi there- I have a 2008 G37S, no nav. I just purchased the Apple Lightning to 30 pin adapter this afternoon and it works perfectly. I have the Infiniti OEM cable to Cable Jive adapter to Apple adapter to iPhone 5. Charges and console and steering wheel commands work. The only odd thing the console display doesn't do is follow the current track in a play list. For instance, when the phone plays a song below what is visible on the screen, the list doesn't advance to that song. It still lists the track info, though.
Other than that, perfect. No distortion, etc., although MP3 discs still play back with better quality and volume than through the phone. Very relieved after reading some of the posts on here the past few weeks while waiting for Apple to ship the blasted adapters!
Cheers.

Just got my lightning cable adapter yesterday. I got the 8" extension one, hooked up in my 08 in conjunction with the OEM cable and a Brandmotion charging adapter and it works flawlessly. All steering wheel and dash controls work, plays pandora and anything else and charges the iPhone 5 as well. 100% success.

josh, i just got all my stuff in today. i hooked up the infiniti apple cable to the extender cable like you have in the second pic you posted, plays music fine. when i add the cablejive charge adapter, it charges the phone, but cannot play music. says on the screen of the G, "ipod not connected." maybe i should return the cabljejive and try something else to charge my iphone 5?

Just as a long shot, if you're having this problem, try doing a hard reset on your phone (hold power and home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the slide to power off message, until it turns off. Then turn on again)
