It's a separate odometer to track a trip length...I don't see how in two years you can stack up 82k miles...but it almost seems like they wound their miles back but forgot to reset the trip odometer...?
Maybe it's a glitch?

Well your trip meter (A) should never have more miles than the actual odometer has ... something sounds fishy.

If something isn't fishy how can the odometer have 18k miles but the trip A odometer have 82k?

You're probably reading trip A incorrectly. Even if someone decided to roll back the odometer, they possibly couldnt be dumb enough to leave the trip A meter at 82,000miles. Not to mention who in the world leaves their trip meters on for 82k? Maybe OP didnt notice the decimal???
Also, whats the number next to "A" exactly as it is written? "82,000" or "82k".. if its "82k", it could possibly be 82kilometers, but if i remember correctly from my dash, it just has a number, and doesnt indicate miles or kilometers. Maybe if you can switch settings to kilometers, the dash indicates it with a "k" next to the number. But im not even sure if you can switch back n forth. Never tried.
