Totaled?
Update:
This has been nothing but a nightmare. It took insurance three weeks to get it appraised and taken over to the dealership. It took the dealership a week to take a look at it, and then another week for insurance to come back out and appraise it. Looks like it is going to be quite a bit more than the 7k insurance appraised for.
It's been sitting at the dealership for a week now after insurance has re-appraised it. I'm waiting to hear something from them. I've tried contacting them a few times a day and I have yet to hear anything.
Over Labor Day weekend I wound up getting in a pretty bad wreck - I'm perfectly fine, so I guess that all that really matters.. Even though I am super sad about my G37
Take a look at these pictures and tell me what you think:
Hood has a slight bend in it (see gap between bumper and hood)
Front passenger wheel:
Passenger door:
Passenger rear quarter:
Passenger rear wheel:
Passenger quarter, taillight, trunk, rear bumper (notice trunk misalignment):
Trunk again:
Interior passenger side airbags went off:
What do you guys think? Insurance adjuster came out today and took a ton of pictures, but couldn't tell if it was going to be claimed totaled..
Here in SC if 75% of the value is damaged it is considered totaled.

Man! What did you hit? Glad you made it out ok? Was someone on the passenger seat?
I feel for you, that looks pretty bad...
Well, if the insurance adjuster did not give you even an estimate, and said "someone" has to see the pics, then it could be good news for you, if you want the car totaled that is.
There is some expensive to fix damage there, the airbags deployed, that seat is all ripped opened due to that, the window is busted. The whole side of the car either needs body work, or replacement, not cheap. What about the roof? you need new tires probably, and both rims are all scratched up...

I am hoping that they claim the car "totaled." As in the experience of most everyone I've talked to is that if they fix it I will always have minor, annoying, problems.

But I am pretty much praying for frame/suspension damage. When I drove it home everything sounded crazy suspension wise.

The insurance company will do a 500 mile search on autotrader.com trying to locate exact equipped cars with comparable miles to determine market value.
That said, you need a new quarter panel welded in, a used door (due to age), door glass, bumper, new air bag(s), headliner? (can't tell if the air bags destroy it), a couple wheels and a couple tires. They will blend base onto the front fender and decklid and clear all of those panels in addition to base clearing the new panels. Not to mention paint work inside the trunk from welding the new quarter in. Assuming no suspension damage or unibody damage the most expensive thing you have going on is that quarter replacement and I can't see that being much more than $3K by itself.
That car isn't totalled by a long shot.

Hate for you to be my adjuster.
I would say just by the pictures $10k
