Finally got around to installing some vinyl on the car

....and this is what I did with the left overs

Looks pretty damn good in person, plus I don't have to look at those nasty scratches anymore. This is the 08' piece otherwise I probably wouldn't have wrapped it.

By the way, I wrapped the hood in matte black.

Did a really good job wrapping it. But the door handle looks really plain to me without the silver showing. Mines was scratched up, I just bought new ones from the dealer and replaced them. Pics of the roof!

I think the handles look good, but I am not so pleased about the hood. I can't imagine that it would look all that great. Pics?

looks good. I did all my silver pieces in gloss black a few months back. Where do you live? Im asking b/c the extreme heat in dallas is causing some peeling on my door handles only. at the exact spots on both door handles. let me know if yours start doign it too. it's about 3 to 4 inches from the top, where the clip is on my backside.

Gloss black would look good because of the contrast. With the flat black there's no contrast and gets lost with the rest of the door and doesn't look very good IMO. Looks like cheap plastic. If you search, a few of us have actually sanded our grab handles in one direction to make it look brushed and then cleared over it. Looks better than new IMO and actually lasts. Or you could buy 09+ handles.

Different finish and doesn't scratch and chip like the 08s did. it may be 2010+, but I'm pretty sure 09+ was fixed. Kind of like how they updated the steering wheel, and the bezel no longer scratches like it used to.

2010 surely scratches and peels very bad.

You did a great job with the vinyl, but I think I agree with people when they say it gets lost with the leather.

Good to have a little contrast in there for certain things IMHO.

Sorry I didn't get to all your reply guys. I really wasn't expecting this thread to get much interest. I will wrap the mirrors, and unfortunately while I was installing the hood wrap, I guess I used too much heat and it ripped the wrap while we were trying to get the grooves. My friend was pulling on it to stretch it and I was heating and squeegeeing it (not a good combo I guess.)

There wasn't enough left for the roof so I will have to reorder more. I was a little skeptical about the roof because I don't want to have a half wrapped car half not wrapped it looks rice IMO.

I agree with you guys on the contrast for the door handles but I was just getting sick of looking at silver. I actually painted one of them with plastidip to test the durability (i think i didnt use enough coats) and it held for about a month and started peeling, so I went with vinyl.

I live in Chicago and I'll update with pics tomorrow of the hood only and hood + mirrors so you guys can give me some input on how it looks. I also did the grille and emblem matte back. I was going to leave the emblem stock but when I put it in, it didn't look good with the matte black grille.

Btw, I'm in Chicago. Summers can get hot and humid up the @ss and winters are odd; last year we had no snow.

EDIT: 2009 models got the washi finish (aluminum) handles and I think there was a guy that works at Infiniti selling them for like $30 a piece back in 2009, but I think they go for around $60 a piece normally.
