Test Drive
I've been test driving several cars trying to decide which car I want to buy later this year. I had a G35 in 2006 that I mostly enjoyed except for the horrible, hard front seats that ruined my back and posture. Still to this day, I swoon every time I hear the exhaust not of the G35. It's in my head for life. So I decised to break from the other type of cars I've been looking at to try the G37.
First, it is much more comfortable to sit in. I would have no problem putting my big butt in that seat.
The exhaust note is not as sexy as the G35 but it was nice and the car actually seems a lot like the G35.
The smell, the way the doors open and close, the acceleration and braking, even the steering and ride were sorta similar to my old G.
The power was not supercar-ish but it is certainly peppy enough to enjoy popping around town.
I also drove the IPL G37 and absolutely loved the red seats.
The biggest negative is I don't think the G37 looks as good as the G35. The G37 is too Lexus-like. The G35 was unique and sporty looking.
The car that got to #1 on my list is the 991 911. I've always wanted a 911 but since the turbo is not out yet, I don't feel 100% sure I want to spend 135K on a car that didn't feel any faster than the G37. For the money the 911 cost, I could get the G37 and a Vette, another car I always wanted.
I have some tough decisions to make and I am no where near to deciding.
Asking for your opinions probably won't help. I'm sure most of you will just say get the G37.....since this is a G forum.
But any useful input from people with experience of these cars is welcome.
Also considering Jag XKR, BMW 650i, Benz SL and Ferrari 575.

Here is what I really want.
Luxurious but sporty. Great handling but not a harsh ride. Doesn't have to be a track star but I want really good power. Actually, torque is more import. Long, sleek hood and body with short rear deck....with sexy lines. I thought the XKR was the one until I drove it. Legroom was a little tight. 650 was a fantastic driver with lots of torque but its a big huge car and it isn't that sexy. Loved the 911 but it didn't give a that burst of thrust I thought it would for a car that is reported to be 3.9 0-60.
I have thought about the GTR but I saw on some forums that you can hear the gears shift, the mechanical pieces actually making noise. I can't deal with that. I want luxury with my sport. I need to drive it but the local dealer never has one and when they do they are reluctant to give test drives.

Seems like an odd question. I would take any of those cars over a G37. You can get 3 or more G37's for what most of them cost. Buy a G for each day of the week, maybe dip one in gold just for gits and shiggles. Baller logic.

If you want <60k and good torque, wait a bit for the 335i F series coupe to come down the pike. It may not make much more torque than the G(~10%), but it makes it down low.
Corvette is also a contender.
Where's the lobster pic to go with Tazicon's post?
