I've tried searching this forum but have been unable to find out for sure....

My salesperson last year told me that Infiniti was discontinuing the use of scratch shield paint, due to problems etc. and that my 2011 EX35 did not have it. I noticed it working though, and later found a sticker on the underside of the hood that said it was equipped with scratch shield. This year when I got my G37 I didn't even bother to ask because I didn't feel like they would truly know the answer anyway, but there is no sticker that indicates it has scratch shield paint. So now I wonder, do the 2012 G's have it or not?

As an interesting related story, I washed some yellow bird crap off the car this past weekend and was pissed to see that it had stained the paint a bright mustard yellow under the crap. I tried polishing, detail spray, wd40, everything I could think of, and nothing took it off. It was right next to the door handle too so it was very visible to me, although just a small spot. After sitting in the sun a few hours though it went away on it's own, I'm guessing it got sun bleached.

 

I noticed a spot that seemed to be "under the clear coat" after wiping off some pollen on my 2012. Didn't come off with clay or detailing spray, but used some meguires ultimate compound on it for about 3 minutes and it came clean, then topped with fresh wax. I'll have to try letting it sit out next time and see if it goes away like you said.

 

Did you ever find out if 2012 G37 have scratch shield CC?

Nope, I still have no idea. My assumption would be no because there is no sticker.
