auto vs 6spd faster?
Took my 6 spd 09 s coupe in last week to get some things done and got a new 4dr auto loaner, and that car felt like it pulled so much harder than mine.
What gives, is there something wrong with my car or does the auto/sedan just pull harder?
Only mod I have is the stillin gen3 on my coupe.

Top secret info here: the sedan has 50 more hp then the coupe. That's why I went with the sedan. it's in the owners manual, but just the manuals the sedan guys got. We really are not suppose to talk about it. Crap, Infiniti is at the front door....
All kidding aside,
It's probably a combo of the 7at more aggressive gearing and just being a different car that your not used to. The sedan is a few pounds lighter also.

Probably just something new, coupled with the weird effect of your car feeling faster whenever it comes out of the shop (mine does, anyway).
I have a sport auto in my coupe. It's a sin but a necessary evil when you're wife insists that she be technically able to drive it - even though she never does. Thank God for the paddle shifters. I have nothing against the performance of my auto except the lag between 1st and 2nd, and it's there no matter what you do. I suppose if the system shifted too quickly it'd make a 2nd gear scratch every time - but I'm not opposed to that!

The stick FELT faster to me when I test drove both. But I'm not sure if Infiniti claims either to be faster. I was coming from a G35 coupe Automatic and so the G37 auto didnt feel faster than a G35 at all. I test drove it and started the paper work. Then my brother convinced me to test the 6MT real quick, after which I had the dealer change the paperwork and then picked up the stick lol.
I also have an SL55 AMG with over 500 hp and the G35 used to feel like a civic after driving the benz. But now, going from the benz to the 6MT G37 isn't that bad. It probably has a lot to do with your ability to hold a gear as long as you want so that you can feel the torque. With the auto, you have to drive in "manual mode" (which doesn't impress me) or flat out floor it just to feel some torque.
But I'd bet that performance for stick & auto is similar, especially in the 1/4

I notice the same thing when I get an auto sedan loaner vs my s coupe. I think the auto just pulls harder 0-60 due to gearing. Once you get past 60 mph or so it doesn't pull nearly as hard as the manual coupe.

what I found for weight distribution-
54/46 - 2012 g37 base sedan (3.628k lbs)
56/44 - 2012 g37x awd sedan (3.822k lbs)
53/47 - 2012 g37s sport sedan (3.709k lbs)
54/46 - 2012 g37 base/journey coupe (3.633k lbs)
56/44 - 2012 g37x awd coupe (3.834k lbs)
54/46 - 2012 g37s sport coupe (3.708k lbs)
6MT vs. 7AT- the 7AT should be a little quicker since the gearing is more aggressive, but hey, a lot of enthusiasts would give up that split second gain for the added fun of a manual transmission.
