Unimpressive acceleration off the line...
Guys... My '12 G37XS coupe is now 4 months in my possession. Love this car in every way, but I'm truly unimpressed with the off-the-line acceleration. Unless I hit the gas really hard, I have Camrys and Impalas passing me with ease from a red light stop. It isn't until I'm up around 35 that the acceleration becomes responsive.
Thoughts and comments? Is it the 7AT, which many are unimpressed with?

well, I have a '10 G37s anniversary edition sedan with 7AT and i freakin' idle fast off the line, so you may want to have it checked out. I actually have to be careful not to take off and burn all my gas up when i take off from a stoplight.

With all of that said, I dont know much about the 7AT or G37X. I know it's slower than my 6MT. But it shouldn't be that much slower. Take it to the dealer. Or like someone else said, test drive another one and compare.

First where are you located? If you are at a high altitude you are not going to have a quick take off. Second you have an X, this will also affect your take off. Are you turning off the VDC when you launch? Need more info to figure out if you actually have an issue or not.

Throttle tip in rates are different on all cars. The min throttle for a Camry might be 40% and the G might be less...but since yours is AWD it's heavier. You do have to use the throttle to accelerate.

LOL yea just SC it and you won't worry about that anymore, your trying to put power to all 4 wheels at the same time so it seems slower. I have a 7AT 2 wheel drive coupe and it jumps off the line like a rabbit. Also like someone else said turn of the VDC that is there to keep you from spinning the tires and it sucks away all the rpms

Stock yes it is, A tune can change the throttle plate position( I have it in a thread of mine). Plus for the SC, SC+tune+ AWD= Sub 3.5 - 0-60 -- had some fun with a 1200CC bike over the weekend.
