Anyone else have a dealership Privilege Card?

When I bought my ’08 coupe back in August 2007, the owner’s manual packet came with a personalized credit-like “Privilege Card” from the local dealer. It said it was good for free oil and filter changes, express check in/check out, free local shuttle service and a 15% discount on accessories.

I never bothered with it until today when I went in for an oil/filter change. The service rep had never seen one before and when he inquired about it, he reported back they were no longer used, and I got charged the normal $39 for the oil change. Has anyone else who bought their car from Miller Infiniti ever had such a card and used it?

Sorry for the odd left turn but:

$39 for an oil change? Holy crap. Is that with synthetic or normal? If the dealer near me offers an oil change for that price I'm never changing my own oil ever again!!!

It’s for normal 5W30 oil. They also do a quick inspection of other items and wash the car. I even ate a few cookies while I waited the forty-five minutes because they were out of donuts.

Wow. Our regular oil changes are $9.99 with the tire tread and multi point inspection. We make no money off our oil changes, its just to get people in the door and having them come back for routine maintenance and other work. Our Premium Synthetic oil change is $69.99.

Wow $70 for an oil change?! A DIY is half that.

$10 for a regular change is cheap though...

Another stealership charges 179.99 for ester

Hey guys, I wanted this thread to be about Privilege Cards, not how much it costs for an oil change. That’s been covered before.

Lmao at how this thread shifted from a question from the OP to a whole new discussion about oil prices.

OP, I've never heard of this privilege card. My dealership does offer me free shuttle service though if I ever went there to begin with. I think most sales include a "free" oil change, though they're never really free since it's just added on to the final sale price.

To the other folks complaining about the prices...why don't you guys just bring your own oil and filter? That's what I do. I go to my local Walmart, pick up 6 gallons of Mobil 1 synthetic extended performance for like 30 bucks and a filter for 10. Take it to the dealership and they only charge me $10 for labor. It also includes a car wash but I always refuse that service. Well worth it IMO so I don't have to worry about disposing the oil, etc.

Never heard of the Privilege Card. Does it have an expiration date? Was there some sort of contract that goes along with it?
