Lost key...what is the cheapest route?

I swear, women and cars! Ahhhhhhhh! (didn't mean to offend anyone!)

My mother lost the damn keys to the G...and we don't have a valet or spare key.

S.O.L. now....so what are my options?

Obviously go to the dealer, but how much do they charge for a full key replacement?

$35 on eBay and $125 to program it.

Replacing an FOB sucks and there's no easy way around it.

Talk about rubbing it in. Haha. I would go the eBay route as well, I think you have to bring the car in to program it, which could mean you have to tow the car there...

But, the batteries in the fob are not rechargeable, so how can that be correct? I think the Key slot is only useful if the key is completely dead or you want to store the key there while you're driving.

Mine doesn't even light-up when I put the key in...

Hey, wasn't very nice of you to put your mom on blast like that....move out and she'll never lose your keys ever again!
In the mean time get a ride to your local Infiniti dealer and bite the bullet bro.

So you bought a key from Ebay? Just jammed it in the slot (that's what she said)? Then pressed the start button and drove off? If this is true, we literally have the easiest car to steal in the world.

Just to clear the air here and to help eliminate any confusion with regards to the "Intelligent Key Port" in our cars. They Intelligent Key Port "DOES NOT", repeat "DOES NOT" recharge a low or dead battery. You can start the car by inserting the, low/dead battery, Intelligent Key by inserting it into the Intelligent Key Port. Low or Dead batteries need to be replaced!

Well...I ordered the key. I only blasted my mother because she usually does silly things with the vehicles at home. I'll be moving out soon...but that isn't relevant.

I guess its okay since I am not really paying for it because at the end of the day, it's my dad's car. I have my 335 and I'm happy with no one else driving it.

Anyways, so is it totally necessary for me to have the vehicle at the dealer?

YES .... You still have to take the car and all the ikeys into a Nissan / Infiniti dealer for programming. If your new ikey came with a key blank, they should be able to cut it for you at the same time. They'll probably have to find your lock code based on your VIN though unless of course you kept that code in a safe place and still have it.
