Rattles and my Sanity
OK, so I had a rattle which sounded like it was coming from the passenger door. Following Black Bettys lead I took the door off, saw nothing obvious but I used silicone on the clips anyhow. Let it sit a day .... still a rattle.
Digging deeper, I appear to have two separate area's rattling. One sounds like it's coming from the general console area, I need to research deeper. The other is strange .... when you are in the drivers seat, you swear it's coming from the passenger side, when you are in the passenger seat you swear it's coming from the drivers side. This is the rattle that may shorten my life span
Driving on a concrete road really makes the one rattle (the mystery one) come to life, the console area one is more of a hard jolt rattle.
Oh the insanity

Try driving with a willing passenger on a back road where they can squirm around while not wearing a seat belt to try to determine it's exact location. Or have them drive while you try it.
Remove the entire center console (with the armrest) and drive around. If it's gone, you have isolated that it is something in the console. If not, try removing the center dash console with the radio. See if it's there. Isolating where it's coming from is often harder than fixing it.

Thanks BB ..... I've already determined it's NOT going to be wife as that person. Hmmmmm that might be part of my sanity problems regarding this issue.

I've had a similar rattle in my center console. I was able to fix it just by pounding down on the trim around the shift ****, seems like it somehow loosened up while driving. You can produce a lot of noises by applying pressure to different areas of the center console and dash, seems like it was one area that Infiniti didn't put much time into. If all else fails, turn the music up.

Put a gag in her mouth and have her drive while you search for the problem. I know from experience that she will probably be beyond useless in finding the source of the rattles if you can even get her to agree to help. Mine is mostly the source of many unwanted noises, but no so good at pinpointing them.
And for the love of God don't ask her to hold a flashlight in a specific spot while you're working on anything.

BB ..... when I told her last weekend I was taking the door panel off to look for the rattle, I got "What Rattle?"
AHHHH ... where's a good Sam Kinison yell when ya need one.

A good solid hammer fist to the side of the center console took care of the creaking. It started that same day. Very mild at first, but by the end of the day I needed to smash something (ie, the console).

The rattles are beyond effin annoying. Horrible quality with my car at least. Can't ever drive with the music off 'cause I need it to drown out the consistent noises

I had the exact same type of noise (seemed to move depending upon where you were sitting). Before tearing anything apart, try these two things first: 1) open the sunglasses holder (the sunglasses holder latch turned out to be the cause of my rattle); or 2) tif that doesn't work, try pressing and holding each of the buttons on the rear view mirror.

I think tearing things apart in search of the sources of rattles is likely to create more rattles than it fixes... Unless you have something really egregious going on, I wouldn't bother playing whack-a-mole with it...
