2009 G37S Coupe Purchase Question
Hey guys and girls,
I'm currently looking at purchasing a 2009 G37S Coupe. It has the premium and sport packages along with nav and has approximately 38k miles. It is not a CPO but should be under the factory warranty until June of next year.
My question for you guys is according to the carfax report (CARFAX Vehicle History Report on JNKCV64E49M602086) the vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for over half a year and accumulated a couple thousand miles. I asked the sales guy I've been dealing with about that and he said his boss liked the car and had driven it off and on and there wasn't a big push to sell it until now.
Would that bother any of you or keep you from considering a car to purchase?
Also, from the carfax it appears the car should be under warranty until June of 2013, will someone confirm that for me?
Thanks for all your help!

Based on the car fax, the warranty will end In June 2013. The car hasn't been driven much since June '11. That's a long time for the car to be sitting.
If the car is in good condition and has service history records, I would get a PPI just verify the condition and if there has been any work done on the car.
Most dealerships don't want to keep inventory too long as they have th carrying costs.
My $0.02.

Maybe it was used as a loaner car for customers getting service work done?
Why would the "boss" drive an '09 over the course of 2011 when he could have just drove any 2011 on the lot?
Not a big push to sell it? It's a dealership, they get antsy when a car sits there a month, much less a year.
Fishy story.

General question, is it true the original power train warranty is only valid for the first owner? If the vehicle changes owners, then only the limited bumper to bumper warranty still applies. Is this true?

The "bumper to bumper" is usually what they refer to the basic warranty that is 4 year/60k covers cosmetics, electronics, etc. that the powertrain does not cover.
CPO warranties are NOT transferable! (Basic CPO is pretty much powertrain until 6 years from original sales date or 100k)
You can buy an extended warranty on top of your CPO at time of purchase from Infiniti which covers more than powertrain.

It's a 2009 G37 Coupe (non-cpo) with sport and premium package with nav. It has 38k miles and I ended up buying it for $29,800. The car was at a GM dealership and not an Infiniti. I took it to an Infiniti dealership prior to purchase and had them do a pre-buy check and it passed with flying colors. Subjective question time, you guys think that is a fair price?
