I also find that women (and this isn't coming from a sexist tilt, but honest observation) that drive SUVs simply step on the gas until they have to hit the brakes, and that usually has to occur with a sudden violence. They drive a big, safe (for them) SUV and take no heed as to how to actually drive.
That isn't taking the onus off aggressive male driving, but is something I see more and more of daily...
^^ Sooo true about the minivans! And that is exactly what I've noticed with some women driving big SUVs, thinking they are "safe" but to whom? Not safe to the one driving behind them when they decide to slam on the brakes because their hairbrush fell on the floor while they are also doing their makeup and taking care of the kids they have in the back seat...

Wow. I started this thread originally and am amazed by how it's endured.

Anyway . . . I think people reveal there true, and often dark, natures within two arenas: on the Internet and on the road. I think it's because both provide a sense of anonymity. Online people hide behind their screen names, and on the road they think they're hiding behind their steering wheels.

It's funny I have noticed some of the worst drivers are people in minivans, it's like they have something to prove. Maybe they are upset they have to drive those things, I'd be pretty upset if I had to. Of course not all minivan drivers are that way, just some of them.

This right here pisses me off to no end. People complain about the price of gas but then drive like morons. I see this all the time around Atlanta, man or woman. When I drive I obviously pay attention to the road right in front of me but I also take the time to look ahead several traffic lights and if I see that my immediate light is green while the next light is red, I'll just ease up after I pass through my green light and start coasting to the red light. Then I see some idiot in a rice burner or some soccer mom next to me who has no idea how to drive hauling *** only to stomp on their brakes 50 ft from the light. Seriously? Wasting gas, brake pads, rotors, transmission stress..... bunch of useless wear and tear I tell ya.

It really just depends on where you are and the type of people that are on the road with you. I was in Palatine the other day and some idiot is tailgating me, high beaming me, acting like a ***** in a Honda Pilot. Few minutes later, I took the ramp to hop on the expressway and he flicks me off for no reason. I was driving normally...lane next to me was open...I just didn't get what the guys problem was.

Then again, I was at a red light in Chicago and a service tech at Honda ran up to the passenger side just to ask what kind of bumper I had.

You're always going to find a$$holes on the road...

Is this more a coupe than sedan thing? I haven't noticed much of it around here (chicago area too). If I notice someone tailgating me, I either move over or slow down more.

When I had the camaro, people would want to race all the time.

Haven't noticed it much in the city...probably because I don't live in the city. I've noticed it out here in the burbs...

My FIL is the worst driver I've ever ridden with - he routinely has scared the hell out of us on trips. Others in the vehicle have to almost yell at him as he is very careless, not aggressive just doesn't pay attention. Now we find reasons not to ride with him if we can help it at all. Yes, it's a Dodge Caravan.

My G only instigates road rage when I drive the speed limit. Which I do everywhere, because speeding is simply too expensive (and dangerous...)

But it isn't the G that instigates the road rage for following the speed limit. I think that works in any car.
