I think it's from people who think because it's AWD, they can still drive on snow just like it is dry and warm.
Even though a vehicle is AWD, a person still needs to drive like they are on snow.
My X worked great in the snow...
I agreed. Coming from 2 Subarus I know exactly for AWD react in the snow, especially Subarus are super tail happy in the snow. The G is not bad at all even with the "snow" button off. But with it on, I can hardly fishtail the damn thing lol.

I understand an X daily, and to be honest your car is setup perfect for what you use it for, mild drop, all blacked out so not having to worry about cleanliness all that much.
Hey man, I like to look good when I'm rollin' to the grocery store in a snow storm. Gotta get my milk & bread! lol

...and these are the kind of people that the snow button was made for (and lets be honest, probably shouldn't be out driving unless necessary.)

Personally, I love driving in snow. I really enjoy the challenge. It's not for everyone though. I just wish those who don't care for it would stay off the roads -- there's nothing worse than the jerks who can't drive in the conditions (read: the guy behind you riding your bumper or the person in front of you who is driving excessively slow, leaving you to wonder, 'am I going to make it up this hill with this moron in front of me doing 10mph? Are they going to make it up this hill?') Other than those minor annoyances though, driving in snow is a blast; one of life's simple pleasures.

I'm the a-hole that likes to drive out in snow storm just to laugh at people that are stuck.
