If possible, wait a couple years to see what the next line of G's are like. I am very anxious to see how this partnership between Merc Benz and Infiniti will play out.

i have a 2010 and i dont have many of the issues a lot of the 08 guys talk about. bubbling seats is still an issue though -_-
the way i look at is like this, with each generation, in this case the g37 coupe, every year is an improvement on the first one. getting a g37 coupe in 2008 would have been awesome, but now a lot of the 08 guys are having small issues here and there that can be a pain. By 2010 and 2011, more and more of the kinks are fixed up in the g37 coupe generation which makes for less hassle and problems. waiting of a 2010 would be nice because some of the 09 issues would have been fixed for the 2010. Not saying every 08 and 09 has problems and that 2010's dont, but its less likely to be as troublesome with a 2010 than with an 08.
In response to what Snypos said, I too am eager to see the next G coupe.. v8? 3.8, 3.9, 4.0 liter engine?! whatever said and done, I wouldnt want the first year production of it. Not just looking at the g37, but with many cars from nissan and other manufacturers, the first year cars in a new generation tend to have the most problems.
If you like the g37 coupe and dont want to wait for the next generation g, i would wait for the 2010 especially if price isn't a big issue. Just look on the TSB section of this forum.. a lot of them are for 08s and some are for the 09s. Not many are out for the 2010 g's.

The 09 went to the 7spd AT, and it has a better display for the nav--you can see it w polarized sunglasses. The 08 had the 5 spd AT and a display that was invisible with polarized suns.
I faced the same thing a month or so ago and wanted a 09 or 10. Found an 09.
The only thing I like more in the 10 is the display between the tach and speedo which is blue instead of orange, and it would probably have fewer miles. maybe.
Others may chime in w more differences but there are more diffs betwen the 8 and the 9 than the 9 and the 10
