G37 Education
I'm looking to purchase a G37 coupe in the next few months but just have a few questions..
1) I see lots of G37's with the chrome (ugly to me) spoiler, but every once in a while I'll see one with a body color spoiler.. is this a package that it comes with, or a different year?
2) I've only seen (1) G37x coupe.. are these rare, or was this mislabeled? Do people like the AWD better than RWD? Any potential downsides to it?
3) What's the "Journey" vs the normal G37 or G37S?
Lastly, I've looked into several other cars (370z, R32, etc) and haven't found anything that I like as much as the G37.. I'm looking to spend <$25,000.. What would you suggest I look at besides the G37? Must be sporty and doesn't have to have outrageous luxury, and must have back seats...
Thanks!

1) I agree, it's ugly isn't it? Body colored spoiler is aftermarket if I"m not mistaken.
2) The X isn't any more rare than the 6mt. They just might not be as popular where you live. I have the G37S 6MT, so I don't know about AWD. Never had an AWD honestly. Potential downsides? Less aftermarket for it. That's about all I can think of.
3) Journey can't have a manual transmission, you need the S for that. Maybe the X too, I dunno.
4) You've looked at the 370z when you must have back seats? Odd cuz it doesn't. Oh maybe that's why you want a back seat; tried without and don't like it. A Cayman S could be another to look at, though I don't think you'll find one for 25,000. Boxster maybe? They have back seats right?

1) Agreed, The chrome is ugly ><. The Body Colored lip spoiler is available at your dealer and can be installed. Its something like $150.
2)It must be your area because were I live, g37x is pretty much the only available model. Perhaps in jersey people like the option of awd because of the snowfall every year. I had to special order my 6MT =D
Other than a slight change in weight distribution and curb weight the x model doesn't really have a downside. For the most part it handles just like the rwd version while the awd is very nice in the winter. The only way to get manual is with the 6mt which is pretty much a g37 sport and comes in only rwd.
3) The Journey is a level of trim. If you go on the infiniti website and look at g37 trims you will see that journey simply comes standard with more goodies =D (electronics and stuff) However, the base car is exactly the same just less amenities.

1.) Its not aftermarket, its an optional accessory that can be purchased. They do however sell aftermarket spoilers.
2.) Depends on where the person you saw driving the "X" lives and what their wants/needs happen to be.
3.) A quick search can be your friend, try Infiniti USA: High Performance Luxury Cars, Crossovers, and SUVs by Infiniti for example.
