Well, moving on.
I've sold off the g37 coupe and bought a new 2011 wrx limited edition. My main reason for trading is I just needed more room and I wanted to go back to a stick. I also don't really care for the 7 speed in the g37's. I considered the STI, but I couldn't justify close to $40k on an econo box. That and they're hard to find with leather.
I'm rather impressed with the WRX's interior and ride. It's far better than my old 2004 STI's. I'm not really planning to mod it, unless I do like a cobb stage 1. I'm too damn old to be cruising with the obnoxious exhaust.

I was looking at a STi for the longest time. Found the interior of the 2010 and 2011 to be junk. It rattled and moved even during the test drive. The ECU tunes are awful, with a probability of losing a motor by 50K miles. I also read a list of transmission issues, and overall reliably issues.
I hope you don't experience any of the above man, but reading those pushed me away from Subaru's.

My g37 interior squeaked constantly and that windshield creak was friggin annoying (yes I know how to fix it). I also had the dash piece above the speedometer cluster start to peel off. Not to mention my seats where bubbling. The tranny shifted like my long dead grandmother, no matter what mode you were in. All unacceptable in $40k+ car.
They had issues with the 2009 wrx's tunes but they've remedied that. That's the year they went from 224hp to 265. The leather seats are good quality but not as nice as the G37. They are very comfortable though. The tranny in a STI is about they best you'll find for strength in a mass produced car. I think they are rated for 1000hp or something. The wrx tranny isn't as tough. It's a solid tranny and I haven't heard of many kabooms in the 2010 or 2011's, but a lot of it has to do with the nitwits doing the driving. For some reason they can't seem to understand why you shouldn't drop the clutch at 6k rpms on an AWD car like they did on their front wheel drive civics. Wheel spin takes a lot of the shock, awd makes it harder to spin. I haven't had an issue with rattles yet but I don't crank my stereo like I used to. When I start replacing stereo components I can fix any rattles I come across, it's not hard to fix.
I didn't like the STI either. The ride was way to rough and I didn't care for the seat material. It's good quality, but feels weird and uncomfortable to me.
They've improved quite a bit in my opinion since the 2007's. I had a 2004 sti and hated it. It was fast, it ran great, but the interior felt like a 1980's reject.
I haven't cut lose with it yet, I'm just up to 200 miles on it. Needs a little more break in before I go crazy with it.
I should be able to spank a G37 off the line up to 60. From 60 to 120 the g37 is going to spank me .
At least I won't have to wash my car as much. Dirty g37's bug me, but for some reason subaru's don't look right without some dirt here and there . I'm looking forward to some snow too.
