protective sticker behind rear tire?

protective sticker behind rear tire?
Can someone identify the "sticker" indicated in the photos?
I noticed them about a week after picking up the vehicle (2011 G37 Coupe in Moonlight White - obviously) and stopped by the dealership to inquire about them.
I was told that they belong there.
They don't seem to belong there to me and they also catch dirt.
It seems to me that they are part of the factory installed protective coverings that get removed when they prep the vehicle for pick-up. Because they match the color of the car he thinks they should be there.
Any commentary would be appreciated.
Thank you!

PS
I believe they are clear, not color matched.

They are there to protect the car from debris kicked up from the road -- without them, the car will get beat up quicker in these areas on the body. Do some searching on the forum -- I think some owners have elected to remove them. I left mine in place.

finally an answer to this kinda. Someone told me it had something to do with the electronics of the car, anybody know? Doesn't seem to be in a spot that would take damage, maybe if it was on the back side of the fender and not the front. I've seen them on a nissan pickup trucks also.
I've searched google, nothing. I think nissan does it and mines in the same spot as the guy's white coupe earlier.
bugging me not having a concreate answer since im looking to switch out my side skirts and half the sticker is on the skirt.

Have them on mines as well. It kind of bothers me too because I notice them. Has anybody ever removed it? I've always wonder why it was there. Looks like a clear bra slapped on the lower quarter panel and side skirt.

I got rid of mine. After putting the new sideskirts on there was only 1 out of the 4 left. So I said screw it. Haven't noticed that the car is any worse for wear...

My only gripe is that they are not quite big enough.
I have black and that area of the car takes a beating from debris because our cars have a semi-widebody design.
You notice it more on black because rock chips show more easily on black.

Very easy. If it's cold I'd recommend heating it up so it becomes more pliable, it's just a clearbra piece of material from what I remember. Only residue was crap that had built up around the edges that didn't get removed while washing the car, easily came off though.

I have a white coupe and notice them all the time. I wont remove mine though because everytime I look at them there seems to be a visible mark that is easily wiped off. Better on that then on the paint.
