Need help deciding !
so heres my case, im going to purchase a new 2011 g37x and i really want a white one. at my dealer ship there's a white one with awd prem, nav and a lapis blue one with awd, prem, nav, sports. illum kick plates and they quote me for 44100 before paperwork and taxs for the lapis blue one. i dont know if i should just get the white one without the sports or get the blue one with sports.
or should i put down a deposit and wait for them to find me a white one with sports. don't know what i should do. i never put down a deposit and wait for them to locate me one before so i dont know how long that would take.

Invoice is just like MSRP, it's a BS number car dealers use to get you to pay what they want you to pay. People figured out MSRP is BS years ago, so dealers started using invoice instead. Your dealer didn't pay invoice price for the vehicle. That's a number you'll never know unless you work at that particular dealership and have access to financial records.
If I were you, I'd have them find you the white one you want, then consider buying it. Definitely don't put money towards a vehicle they don't even have. That's insane. Sounds like this dealership wants your money, and doesn't want to find you the right vehicle. Avoid places that want money from you just to start looking for the right vehicle.

$44,100 is nice for an xS with prem and nav.
I waited it out while my dealer found me a black one set-up the same way..... took 7 weeks. They had a platinum one all set-up, but I waited for the color I wanted. VERY glad I did.
Don't give them a penny until the car is on the lot. They should want to find a car for you. It's what they do, or should be doing.

I used to sell cars and could teach a 1 week class on buying cars. People are so ignorant and just refuse to listen.
MSRP and Monroe stickers are complete poop. Listen to the forum members! I would implore you with - research what others have paid new. You must realize, the dealership would take a 1k over cost if it was the weekend and they had few to no units out. They would not take 3k over cost if they just moved 20... Sell something on craigslist, when you need the money, you will lower the price. Welcome to economics sir.
If you are not willing to walk away, they are not willing to give you the best price!
They tried everything they could to convince me they were losing money... In the end, I got a used G37S (fully loaded, with addons) for 1k under KBB wholesale. I also got the 100k 'platinum' extended warranty for less than half what they were going to sell it to me for.
You have to play the game if you want a good price. Let me part you with this quote,
Me - "That is great, I am sure this car is worth every penny of that price sir... to someone else, just not me. So sell it to them and I will keep looking for the right car at the right price."
Them - "Well, meet us in the middle [give us something to work with, let me talk to so and so, what if we do this or that, etc, etc, etc."
Me - "This is the price I will pay, no more, no less. If we are going to do the hit and slide, the back and forth, or the red and black pen tricks, I will leave; it is a yes or no. (I moved 300 dollars when I knew it would finalize the deal. If you move more than once, you have lost and might as well leave.)

What I did was get the VIN, email it to one of the guys on here to find out what the VPP A plan price was.
So I knew going on exactly how much I was going to spend. I perhaps could've negotiated more, perhaps have more free oil changes thrown in, or a discounted extended warranty or what not, but I felt fine with what I paid and in the end that's all that really matters.
As far as what you should do - it's a pricey car - wait for the one you want.

See if your work offers VPP pricing - if you work for a big company that might have dealings with Nissan or Infiniti you might.

I think you should try to lower it. When i bought mine, they offered me a white one which I didn't want, and since I didn't want it, they were going to sell it to me for $41,600. So I'm sure you can get it lower.
