On flat surfaces do you guys use your ebrakes all of the time or do you throw it in gear to save the ebrakes? I heard you can do that instead of the ebrakes.

 

Always use the parking brake. Put the car in first gear unless it's parked on a decline, then put it in reverse.

Never just use the transmission. Guess which one costs more to fix?

THE ONLY PLACE where I don't put the car into any gear when parked is my garage, because I know that it is perfectly flat and I don't want to play with fate and accidentally stall/surge it into the family room.

 

Good one. I use the brake, don't always put it in gear unless I'm on a slope.

 

Always do E-Brake!...95% of time I don't leave it in gear when parked; just make well sure the e-brakes are fully engaged then you'll wont have any problems.
